It is now day 2 of the first Kuyamis poker festival. but before anything else. We would like to say one thing.
The Kings Card Club is a hidden gem of the Mindanao poker scene. Times have changed and the Kings Card Club is just that. The pot exceeded the guarantee.
Only 2 Manila-based players came to join the event. Although the two players failed to qualify for day 2, both have won big on the cash games.
The sad truth is that Manila-based poker rooms will always have to compete with other Asian neighbors, while the South is slowly growing its own market.
It is the players in Manila who are missing out by not being in this tournament—beautiful girls, action-heavy cash games, a good guaranteed tournament, good and friendly people, top-class management, and the list just goes on and on.
For us, January 2024 is really a great start—avoiding tournaments that just milk players and covering two great events (Sinulog 2024 and Kuyamis)
