After taking a much-needed rest after covering so many events. it is time to look into things and push things forward.
We will be releasing the tournament schedule soon as plenty of tournaments are coming after this week.
For now, let us take a look at the Poker Dream Manila 2023 that was recently held at Newport World Resorts (formerly Resort World Manila).
The first biggest tournament of 2023 for the Philippines.
Poker Dream – New but refreshing
Poker Dream
Poker Dream is a new organizer that held its first event in Malaysia last year. It has a great team behind floors working for other famous brands.
They are new and it is the first in Manila. it is a promising alternative and maybe PH’s new hope to be able to compete in the international poker scene which is getting competitive.

one of the biggest flaws they had was probably not being able to connect with someone who knows the local market. a lot of things could have been avoided.
They have been under fire for some flaws like the lack of experience of the dealers in the field which could have been avoided if they knew the old mistakes.
The old organizer that held their events in Newport World Resorts had a good strong relationship with the players that some chose to fly out to Taiwan as the old organizer was holding an event there.
However, it was not a total mistake as it can be seen that it chose to favor some of its regular players from other countries which was its base, A totally logical move as there is still uncertainty about the future of Poker Dream Manila.
An unjust attack
It is sad really that the mistake of a few faults the collective.
As of writing. we know that after this article is released some individuals will still brand that the poker dealers in Newport are bad. Even if they really did not play in the poker dream.
This is totally false!
Yes, it is true that some dealers are new, but the senior dealers and the head of the poker department for Newport world resort were there. They step in from time to time when they believe it was called for and as we have covered multiple events across the nation. Our conclusion is that they also made mistakes like other events and it is still on an average rate. It was just blown out fo proportion.
Please take note that Manila was not in the original schedule of Poker Dream. And if the poker dream didn’t push through. The first biggest event in Manila would have been held only in August this year. More organizers are favoring other countries than Manila.

Criticism is not bad. After all, it helps us get better but knowing the mistakes we have made.
But we have to make a balanced view and weigh things out.
Poker Dream Manila 2023 is the first biggest tournament in Manila. The net biggest tournament for Manila is scheduled for August.
We need tournaments like Poker Dream Manila or else we would be stuck with small and medium size events.
Poker Dream took a chance on Manila and made a good event. It could be better and hopefully, it does.
But no matter what, we hope there is another Poker Dream event in Manila soon!
