Hey, Poker Playas!
A few weeks back, we created an opinion section, and sometimes we don’t post it on our Facebook page.
Quite recently we found something odd that we wanted to write about. it was very odd as the coincidence was too much lately.
At first, we wanted to write about those coincidences. but then those coincidences were really inevitable anyway.
Most poker rooms are only able to tap the current market. It just going to be competitive.

The coincidences
As to give the readers a clue as to what we mean. Jason Kyle Magbanua, The RVS Cup, and now the weekend special.
We want the readers to carefully look as to write the details is not important. But the coincidence is amazing. Maybe it is just an innocent coincidence.
But whether or not it is a coincidence. End of the day, business is business, it will always be a battle to be the biggest. And the competition can only get fiercer. New poker rooms and organizers will pop out and everyone will want to earn.
Competition is great, it could drive growth
The beauty is that if there is competition. it is either people who can be complacent and believe they would still succeed or do nothing.
Second, Shortcuts! compete on the same field and battle it out with bigger guarantees and lower buy-in. quantity vs quality.
Or third, be creative and even go for higher standards.
Because it does work.
Masters Poker
Masters poker is a big example. Masters poker is one of the oldest poker rooms in PH.
But currently, Masters is doing great. Imagine they have limited spaces, they have fierce competitors. But in the end, they did not compete with bigger guarantees. they offered a good tournament for players on Sunday.
The food there is amazing, they were the first poker room outside the casino to have a TV table.
They became creative and push through with it. Slowly Masters poker was carving their brand.
The stack of GG Poker
Another new introduction is the stack. it is actually a good concept where players can play a bigger stack per event.
It does prove there are good ideas out there. But the question now is can they really push it?
But can they implement it correctly?
It’s sad really. that most of the people we spoke to just mentioned there was a tournament there. It was only when we were doing the schedule did we noticed the great concept.
And then the question remained how well can they execute it? did they push for shortcuts and adjusted the blinds making the added stack not even worth it?
Will they push for the battle to the percentage of the field which could seriously affect the game?
The question is can they turn it into a really good experience and make theirs because it is given that others will copy it?
The competition is not that great
It is a chance to be creative. to be better. Anybody can copy others’ works. Anybody can like lately just bad mouth your competition and create shortcuts.
But those are short terms.
Now is the time to make their mark. but can poker rooms do it?
