Hey, poker playas!
2021 is coming to an end soon. And a new battle begins in 2022 which is right around the corner.
So who to bet on 2022?
GPI is kinda a mess now hence it is difficult to actually use it as a guide. There are quite a few factors that affected it hence it may not be reliable.

An example is that the Philippines did not have any live tournament for almost 2 years due to the pandemic. While there are Filipinos who are able to play in the United States.
We would also define why we call them the big 3.
Mike Takayama
Base on merits alone and wins alone. Mike Takayama can be considered the local king. The first Filipino to win the Asian player of the year and so much more. He is the only local-born Filipino to ever win a WSOP Bracelet.

He is a great poker player, there is no doubt about that. But what makes him great is also the maturity he has gained during the pandemic.
You can read more about it in our interview.
Part 1 – The beginning
Part 2 – The journey so far
And this guy has guts. He was not afraid to journey alone and even when there was almost nothing left in his pocket. He would dare take the world on.
This is a blade that has gone through the hottest of fire. He has matured significantly and is more determined than ever.
A man to watch out for in 2022.
Lester Edoc
Lester Edoc is the next. He has won multiple events including some big highrollers events against the big names in the poker scene in Asia.
Although his run in Las Vegas was not fruitful this year. He made a mark by finishing 2nd in the recently concluded Special tournament in Okada Manila.

And this was just a few days after he arrived in Manila. He also landed second on a side event.
He is a great player no doubt. With tournaments slowly opening up in Manila. It would be not a surprise to see him on the final table.
Florencio IV Campomanes (Flo)
Flo Campomanes is the only Filipino to win the main event of two of the most prestigious event in Asia.
The APPT and The Red Dragon.
He was also seen in the recently concluded Special tournament.

Although he came in late, he still proved he is in top form and he ended up being the big stack by the end of the day.
It was only bad luck his run was stopped on day 2. but he is in top form. Flo is a definite must-watch for 2022
Why is that person not in the big 3?
Other players are included in a separate list which we will release soon.
there are reasons for them being treated separately.
Stay safe poker playas!
