Metrocard club announces the first semi-live tour
Publish date: November 8, 2021

Hey, poker playas!

There have been many changes in the last few days. Notably, the lowering of the quarantine measures so the economy can finally recover.

But leading the charge now for change is Metrocard club as it introduces a new hybrid type tournament.

Here we go!

The world move forward

It has been a long time since a poker tournament was allowed In the Philippines. The tournament will always be vital to poker rooms in Manila, pre-pandemic, although things have changed as even without any tournaments the rooms have been getting players.

But due to Health restrictions, creating a full tournament is still a challenge. It was even a challenge to re-open during the pandemic.

But Metrocard club is eager to take on the challenge as it announce the new RVS cup.

The RVS Cup

The RVS cup is the biggest tournament of Metro for many years now. It was the biggest GTD of Metrocard club every year.

It had to take a backseat due to the pandemic. Even now there are still quarantine measures in place. There are still limitations to having many people in an indoor setting.

In order to protect the players by minimizing the players in the room while holding a big tournament. Metrocard club Introduce a semi-live tournament setting.

Base on the report.

day 1’s or qualifying rounds will be held online. It is possible it could include day 2.

As the basis would be the number of players. it would depend on the number of players whether how many qualifying days would be needed to be held online.

8% of the field will play Live at the Metrocard club.

Although it does limit the number of players that could play the event. it does show how Metrocard club prioritizes the safety of the players more than making a profit.

Will it work?

There are pros and cons to the latest daring move of the Metrocard club.

The Philippines favor online apps more than online sites. The bigger apps also have bigger guarantees and lower buy-ins.

However, there are still people who love live poker tournaments better.

There is also the question will poker apps consider this as a competition and make their own?

It is still a chance to join and be part of Metro Manila’s first live poker tour.

Or be the first champion.

And you also have to consider Metrocard club has established its reputation ever since. People who have not played online might try Metrocard club.

The pros of Metrocard club are also some of the most respected Filipino poker players in the Philippines.

Metrocard club has the capacity and the will to push things. Will they be able to push things and gain a huge online following?

Still, it is quite admirable that Metrocard club pursued a road to return live tournaments back to the Philippines and still keep the health and safety of the players a priority.

Let us hope more information comes out soon.

Stay safe poker playas!
