GGPoker Signs Jason Koon as Newest Ambassador
Publish date: October 5, 2021

Hey, poker playas!

GG Poker has added a new member to its ever-growing list of ambassadors.

GGPoker added to its already impressive roster, which includes the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Fedor Holz, by signing Jason Koon to the team.

Read on for more details.

Koon is one of the top players in the world, having cashed for $32.5 million in live tournaments, good for 10th all-time. The West Virginia native previously served as an ambassador for partypoker but moved on from the company at the end of July.

Koon becomes the fifth major ambassador for GGPoker, joining Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Fedor Holz, and Dan Bilzerian.

The vital role of ambassadors.

Ambassadors are the link to the company. It is a way to connect the fans of a local poker hero to a market.

It is a way to advertise the product to people. It does help in connecting people to the site. Also, it builds integrity. For example, Koons is known as a high roller superstar and is considered by his peers to be one of the most ethical players in the game.

Hence a level of trust is also shared on the site.

How to become an ambassador.

There is a lot of misconception on how to become a pro to a site.

Most people believe by winning a tournament or tournaments one can become a pro. that is not specifically true either. but it could happen once again.

Back then it was true when poker was starting out. There were only a few regulars and regular champions that were worth investing in. If they continue a winning streak, it creates more exposure to the brand.

Poker sites are not stakers, the more their brand is exposed. the better the chance of people joining the site.

But there are cases for example Dan Bilzerian, does anybody know his tournament record? In reality, Dan Bilzerian has one record in GPI. 180th place out of 6,974 entries.

But Dan Bilzerian knows how to sell himself. Which makes him an asset.

Pokerstars shifting to stars.

Recently, Pokerstars has parted ways with a lot of pros. and have shifted to stars. Especially twitch and streamers. that is because a lot of pros have not won big tournaments lately or they don’t know how to talk or promote themselves.

Let just say they are winners. but in a world where there are too many tournaments and too many champions pre-covid. It is just one of a thousand.

But pros are still worth it as they can use the pros or ambassador’s own fan base to introduce themselves to the market.
