The winds of change have come
Publish date: July 18, 2021

Hey, poker playas!

Change is inevitable. we use to play in big live tournaments 2 years ago. Drink a beer after qualifying or partying.

In the blink of an eye, live events have stopped due to the coronavirus.

but now it seems like things are slowly changing. here a few updates.

Manila now under General community Quarantine

Manila will be under GCQ till the end of the month. More and more businesses are allowed to operate under GCQ.

The big question in everyone’s mind is probably will it last or will another strict lockdown be imposed if the number grows.

It would be a difficult question to answer as there are reports of the Delta Variant has finally entered the Philippine soil.

But more and more Filipinos are getting vaccinated. The national election is also coming up next year. Without a reverse in the economy. the current administration will face huge difficulties to win again.

It is now a race of getting more people vaccinated to get ahead of the virus in order to revive the economy.

Poker players moving forward!

Whether it’s Axie or other ventures, poker players are also moving forward. More players are visiting poker rooms but it is still a challenge.

Those who still love poker are either moving to the United States in order to play. Some are going online.

There has been a surge in people making their own clubs. more on that in this article.

Poker Rooms are more aggresive.

There is a poker room in Manila that has no longer applied to place the barrier in between players.

Players reported that the new system is you have to play first in the table with the barrier and 6max until a vacancy on the 8 max with the barrier is available.

Although such a move is questionable, it would have been better if it was offered only to those that have been vaccinated, However only the rule that you have to play first on the 6max with a barrier is imposed.

There are reports that tournaments are already being pushed. However, this has yet to be confirmed.

Online poker apps are lowering their fees for club owners.

Poker apps have been the favorite for most local poker players. That is because that players can play in local currency.

The Philippine market is one of the prime markets in Asia right now, as it is one of the few countries to operate poker legally.

There are club owners who have reported that some sites are willing to offer free diamonds and chips.

Even a poker site has made misleading claims such as being able to play in peso(while the cash game on the site is in dollars) or satellites to WSOP events.

Things are changing.

Whether it is for good or bad, only time will tell.

Stay safe poker playas!
