Hey, poker playas!

It seems life has become tougher in the early part of 2021. But never lose hope as slowly the world is recovering.

As we are back to give you the news. here are some of the things you might have missed.

Philippines “NCR plus” shifts to stricter GCQ

After more than a month under the country’s two strictest quarantine classifications, Metro Manila and 4 adjacent provinces Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, and Bulacan, will shift to a “stricter” version of General community quarantine (GCQ) on Saturday, May 15.2021.

Still, certain areas in the country will be under modified enhanced community quarantine due to the rate of transmissions and state of the healthcare system in those areas.

What does ‘heightened restrictions’ mean?

In a statement sent to media as the meeting was being aired, Roque explained what the government means by “heightened restrictions” in the GCQ that will be imposed in “NCR Plus” until May 31.

  • 18 to 65-year-old persons can leave their homes
  • Only essential travel in and out of NCR Plus allowed
  • 20% capacity for indoor dine-in in restaurants, 50% capacity for outdoor or alfresco dine-in dine-in
  • 30% capacity for outdoor tourist sites
  • 10% capacity for religious gatherings, gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment, funerals
  • Outdoor non-contact sports, games, scrimmages outdoors
  • 30% capacity for personal care services that do not require the removal of masks, like salons, parlors, and beauty clinics

Will casinos and poker rooms be open?

No official announcement has been given. but there are reports that Casinos are open to the general public once again.

Poker rooms and houses remain closed.

Will Pokerstars be the first to re-open again?

The Philippines is Hot, Literally!

We definitely advise players to avoid going or make sure they are hydrated.

PAGASA gave the following tips:

  • Stay indoors as much as possible. If air-conditioning is not available, stay on the lowest floor, out of the sunshine.
  • Wear lightweight and light-colored clothing.
  • Drink plenty of water regularly.
  • Water is the safest liquid to drink during heat emergencies. Avoid drinking liquor because it dehydrates the body.
  • Eat small meals, but eat more often. Avoid eating food high in protein which can increase metabolic heat.

#UPokerhappy

Although only a few participated. it was quite a blast as the traffic for #UPokerhappy reach more than 20,000 hits.

They have plans to extend their reach to new markets and it is a definitely a great start.

They would be releasing some great stuff on their Tiktok channel.
