Focus on Biz – Joseph Sia
Publish date: February 22, 2021

The pandemic has changed the industry. What if you rely on poker as a source of income then suddenly everything is halted?

While those who do not rely on poker as a main source of income have family or elderly people in their house.

People have to be more responsible than allowing poker to interfere in their lives.

Joseph Sia understood all of this and knew he had to place poker all the way to the end of the back seat and focus more on his responsibility.

Poker will always be there.

But how is he doing?

Let us find out.

Joseph Sia

What kept you busy during the lockdown?

I channeled all my energy and time to our software business (www.jeonsoft.com). Same as any other businesses, being shocked with the effect of Covid19 and this pandemic is really an understatement. We have to rethink everything and try to cope with how to do things differently. From Day1 of the lockdown we shifted to Working From Home and did not missed a single working day to serve our clients. We also took this opportunity to rethinking our product lines and came up with new products to serve Client’s new business requirement to operating in this new norm. With God’s grace, so far things are turning out pretty good.

Tell us more about jeonsoft?

JeonSoft is a software development company that specializes in selling Payroll software for local businesses.

Now that the world opening what are your plans?

My parents live with me so I have to follow certain strict health protocols. I haven’t really been out since the lockdown. So my priority now is to get vaccinated first before going out.

Have you been playing online?

I have maybe played twice during this pandemic just kill time, nothing serious. I am a live poker player, I enjoy socializing with people on the poker table and also getting all kinds of live reads on my opponent’s behavior, which I don’t get when playing online. But playing poker online certainly is the best and fastest way to enhance one’s poker skills. With the number of hands you play online versus live poker, it sort of enhances your Poker Brain Muscle Memory on how to react to certain situation SUPERFAST!

Are you interested in a big tour like the 20 million PHP Gtd of Upoker that Jason Ambata is promoting

Yes definitely. Jason’s a good poker player with a golden heart personality. He is one of my good trusted friend, it’s really great to see him as an ambassador to help revive the poker industry during this pandemic.

Do you have any messages for the Filipino players out there?

Hang in there guys, this pandemic will be over soon, I am just so excited to see everyone again on the Poker table and learn from each other how to improve our games.

The pandemic might have brought out the worst to some people. But there are those who decided to bring out their best.

We hope to see Joseph Sia on a live poker felt when it finally opens.

Stay safe poker playas!
