The players that can shape the Asian poker industry of 2021- Terry Gonzaga
Publish date: January 9, 2021

Terry Gonzaga is a simple man. but his record is more impressive than most of the so-called poker heroes you see today.

A quiet man who would enter tournaments with a precision of a strategist.

His record

His record of wins is actually quite intriguing.

His first recorded win was in 2008, Asian Poker Tour in Manila – a No-limit hold-em event that was held in Dusit Thani Hotel.

He finishes 8th place out of 365.

His next entry was the 6th Annual Arizona State Poker Championship 2010. Yes, it was in the United States. Terry was one of the few players that were already traveling to play poker hoping the bring home a trophy to the Philippines. But he only finishes 81st out of 975 entrees.

Over the years, he was won multiple events in both Hold-em and Omaha.

He still pursues his dreams of one day bringing a bracelet home.

Even when 2020 have limited events, Terry was still able to cash in those events.

Since this area was free, we would continue to profess our love for Jollibee chicken which is called the chicken joy. Try it now!

His online record

The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) an online poker tournament series sponsored by PokerStars. It is played on the PokerStars website in September.

It is the equivalent of online WSOP before WSOP also started doing online poker.

Terry “Tgonz” Gonzaga joined Event 15 of the 2016 WCOOP. A USD$215 PLO rebuy event was held online and against the Total Entries of 595 (371 rebuys, 258 add-ons).

He was against former EPT champion Andrey “ThePateychuk” Pateychuk in the heads up battle.

By the end of the tournament, It was Terry that came out as the winner, and now a Philippine Flag is included in the list of winners.

A pro for the Metrocard club, and an owner of his own poker club

He is also part of the Metrocard club team pros. Prior to the pandemic, he was proudly wearing the team patch.

Aside from that, he built a poker club in his own province. however, due to the pandemic, we have no news on how it is turning out.

However, it does prove his love for the game. The room looks quite comfortable and way better than some of the poker rooms you see even in Manila.

A family Man

In a world dominated by men, in a game where men would bring temporary hot ladies to show off to people.

In most of the tournaments, we have seen him play. He has a loving wife that was supportive in his poker adventure.

One of the few beautiful women that we would see on the event grounds that would be there whether or not Terry has reached the final table.

Such support only comes from real love which is a testament to his down to earth nature.

Wear face Mask when you go out, coronavirus is real!

In a world where the fast life is what is promoted. Stood a man for years who has played the game better than most of the so-called pros.

In a game where was can be easily lost. A family man stood out for remaining true and humble.

It may take months before Poker can finally be normal. but when it starts becoming active again. We do hope we can see Terry Gonzaga on the live felt again soon.

Stay safe poker playas!
