Hey, Poker Playas!

The World Series of Poker 2026: 100 Bracelets Await

The World Series of Poker — held every year in Las Vegas — remains the pinnacle of achievement for the everyday poker player. For many, it is more than just a tournament series. It is a symbol. A bracelet doesn’t just represent victory; it represents legitimacy. It is the closest thing poker has to crowning a true world champion.

The WSOP has officially released its 2026 schedule.

A total of 100 bracelet events will be up for grabs next year, once again raising the standard of competition across every format imaginable.

The 2026 series will run from May 26 through July 15, 2026, and will once again be hosted at the iconic venues on the Las Vegas Strip:

  • Horseshoe Las Vegas

  • Paris Las Vegas

For Filipino players, the WSOP remains the “tournament of tournaments” — the stage that separates contenders from champions.

As of now, only one Filipino who has not renounced his citizenship has captured a WSOP bracelet, making each new year an opportunity for history to be rewritten.

The question now becomes:

Will the Philippines send a bigger contingent in 2026?

With 100 events on the schedule and nearly two months of action, the opportunity is certainly there. Whether more Filipino grinders take their shot at poker immortality next summer remains to be seen.

Only time will tell.

WSOP 2026

The Filipino Dream at the World Series of Poker 2026

For years, many Filipinos have bravely taken on the challenge — flying to Las Vegas to compete at the grandest stage of them all, the World Series of Poker.

The WSOP bracelet is often called the “champion of champions” trophy. It represents more than prize money. It represents legacy.

So far, only one Filipino who has not renounced his citizenship has secured that ultimate prize.

That man is Mike Takayama — widely recognized locally as the “Mahak na Hari” (Beloved King), often regarded as the poker king of the Philippines. Years ago, he achieved what many had attempted but failed to accomplish: winning a WSOP bracelet as a Filipino, representing the Philippine flag on poker’s biggest stage.

While there have been other players of Filipino descent who have won bracelets, Mike Takayama remains the only one to have won while proudly staying and competing as a Filipino.

The Big Question for 2026

With the 2026 WSOP schedule now released — featuring 100 bracelet events — speculation begins again.

Will Mike Takayama attempt another historic run?

And more importantly, will he try to capture the ultimate prize — the WSOP Main Event title?

The 2026 series begins on May 26, with the Main Event scheduled to start on July 2. That gives months of preparation before cards are in the air for poker’s most prestigious tournament.

Will the Philippines Send a Bigger Contingent?

Another pressing question lingers:

Will we see a larger Filipino presence in 2026?

With stricter U.S. immigration policies in recent years, travel logistics may become more challenging. Still, Filipino players have never lacked courage. If anything, the dream of bringing home another bracelet — this time securing it unmistakably and undeniably as a Filipino — burns even stronger.

It is still too early to predict.

But one thing is certain: when the lights shine bright in Las Vegas next summer, somewhere in the field will be Filipino players chasing history once again.

And perhaps, just perhaps, 2026 could be the year the Philippine flag rises again on poker’s biggest stage.

WSOP Online 2026 Schedule Still Pending

As of press time, the World Series of Poker and its official online partner GGPoker have not yet announced the official schedule for WSOP Online 2026.

For players who may not be able to travel to Las Vegas, WSOP Online has become a legitimate pathway to securing a gold bracelet — all from the comfort of home. Over the past few years, the online series has provided players worldwide the opportunity to compete for poker’s most prestigious prize without boarding a plane.

With GGPoker once again serving as the official partner, expectations are high that online bracelet events will be made available as part of the extended WSOP 2026 calendar.

For many Filipino players, this could represent a more accessible route to chasing history.

Stay tuned. We will announce the official WSOP Online 2026 schedule as soon as it becomes available.

STAY TUNED!
