MAIN EVENT Day 1A
It’s no surprise that Gerardo “Julius” Lubas has taken the lead on Day 1A of the Metro Card Club – APT Challenge. Known for his relentless, aggressive playstyle, Julius commands the table from start to finish. Whether it’s the beginning of the tournament or the final table, his strategy remains the same: win it all or bust.
Day 1A was unquestionably owned by Julius, who established a commanding lead and set the pace for the days ahead.
Fabech Tobias secured second place in the Day 1A chip count at the APT Challenge. As a foreigner who now calls the Philippines home, Fabech has become a regular at local tournaments. He’s consistently been seen cashing in events at various poker rooms across the country, showing how well he has adjusted to competing against the local pros.
Other notable names in the APT Challenge include Vamerdino Magsakay, a Metro team pro, and Martin G., both making significant comebacks after the pandemic. These seasoned players are showing the poker world that they still have the skills and determination to compete with the newer generation of players.
Will their experience propel them to the top in this fiercely competitive event? Stay tuned!
Some other notable players who didn’t make it to Day 2 include Dave Spade, known for his playful interactions with the dealer. Recently, he and his group Action PH partnered with GGPoker, offering some exciting promos that players should definitely check out.
Also spotted was Moe Jiggy, an APT champion who has been on a hot streak in the local tournament scene. Unfortunately, this day 1A wasn’t his day, but we’ll surely see more of him soon!
