Its a wrap!
It was an exhilarating start to the Metro Summer Event Main Event as Day 1A unfolded at the Metro Card Club! With a total of 165 eager participants taking to the tables, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and competitive spirit.
Liao Po Hsun emerged as the standout performer of Day 1A, claiming the coveted title of chip leader with an impressive stack of 462,000 chips. Hailing from Taiwan, Liao is renowned for his formidable skills both on the local and international poker circuits.
Notably, Liao’s prowess was on full display at the APL Manila 2023 event hosted by 2Ace Poker Manila, where he secured a commendable 2nd-place finish. With a track record of success and a reputation for strategic brilliance, Liao Po Hsun’s commanding performance on Day 1A solidifies his status as a formidable contender in the Metro Summer Event Main Event.
Tata Cadangdang, affectionately known as “The Killer Orca” from Davao, demonstrated his formidable skills by securing the 3rd position in chip counts at the end of Day 1A. Hailing from the vibrant poker scene of Davao, Tata has been consistently showcasing his talent and prowess on the felt.
With a string of impressive performances in the southern poker circuit, Tata Cadangdang has garnered a reputation for his strategic acumen and competitive spirit. Eager to test his skills against a larger field, Tata’s success on Day 1A of the Metro Summer Event Main Event signals his readiness to make waves on a bigger stage.
Meanwhile, Rey “Bagyo” Osete from Team DCamps, is among the top 5 of this tournament. More or less 5 from DCamps qualified for this event.
The female contingent showcased exceptional skill and tenacity during Day 1A of the tournament, with three notable players securing their spots among the qualifiers. Karen Talamayan, demonstrating her proficiency on the felt, claimed the 10th position in chip count, while Liberty Icao followed closely behind, securing the 13th spot. Maria Argao emerged as a standout performer, securing 23rd place in chip count
Meanwhile, Only Joven Huerto (12th in chips) From the Metro Team Pro was able to qualify for Day 2.
Day 1B is scheduled for Tomorrow (April 11, 2024) at 2 PM.
