It is in the worst of times where we can see how a company cares for its people. As the Coronavirus is still wreaking havoc in Manila and the government has still not lifted the Quarantine measure. Casinos have no clear indication when they can open up.
Regardless, City of Dreams Manila understands its biggest asset is its people and to ensure their safety. The City of Dreams offers employees with further assistance.
City of Dreams Manila has announced granting a 100% month’s Basic Pay (not including fixed allowances) to non-management colleagues effective May 4 as they exhaust their leave balances and are not able to work due to the present quarantine. The added benefit will be in the form of new paid leaves in accordance with internal measures.
In caring for its over 6,000 colleagues, the management team has also volunteered a pay cut as of mid-April.
City of Dreams Manila Chief Operating Officer Kevin Benning had this to say.
“These are measures that Melco and its management team are undertaking to help ease the burden on our colleagues whose well-being is of paramount importance,”
“We hope that this latest initiative of Melco, along with the advance release last month of the 13th month pay, will help alleviate the challenges that our colleagues may be facing in these unprecedented times,”

We may not know when quarantines can be lifted. It may be months before Casinos can begin to operate, but the love that the City of Dreams is sharing in these times of need is inspiring and heartwarming.
