Many Organizers have begun to shift their lives tours online. The latest one to announce is Unibet Poker.
Opting to transfer all of the live-based events to their independent online platform for the rest of the year. They have announced three Unibet Open Online Series which have already been scheduled and set to run in place of the canceled live events. The first Unibet Open Online will kick off in a few days beginning May 1st with the Fall and Winter Unibet Open Online to be held in September and December respectively.
Unibet Head of Events Nataly Sopacuaperu had this to say
“We fully understand the impact to our partners and the land-based venues. However, as a priority we must consider not only the health of our customers, but also the difficulty for recreational players with regards to planning trips around uncertainty.“
Meanwhile, The Head of Poker Kristoffer Bergvall also reassured the players with this to say
“better equipped than ever” to manage the switch from “IRL to URL” adding, “We are all in agreement that this is the best way to ensure the consistency and reliability that people have come to expect from our product, and the online room is better equipped than ever to house our land-based fans.“
Over a total of 132 events throughout the three-week duration will be the upcoming Unibet Online Series. It will feature a €1,000,000 prize pool guarantee
The Series highlights are the €1100 buy in with €200K GTD on May 24th at 19:00CET, and an exclusive Champions Showdown to battle other tournament winners for a cut of €5,000. Satellites for as low as €0.50 are already currently available in the poker client for a chance to grab a seat to the anticipated events.
Similar to other poker brands, the shift from live games to the online scene can be heavily expected as it becomes a more viable option with regards to the present-day situation.
