Touring the mall

Located in the city’s central business district. The two-story mall has over 500 tenants, offering stores, boutique shops, fast-food chains, and restaurants. 

Located just across the poker room. it time to raid it once again and find some stuff.

Then the shuttles like Magnum. Big Vans or small buses that can bring you to the airport for only 200 PHP. the downside was the last trip was at 7 p.m. 

So we found ourselves in a position to either leave early as our flight is 10:30 or take a taxi which would cost 4 times as much.

So time to hit the poker room!

The game started around 5 plus and we grabbed ourselves a chair. the first table was definitely aggressive. The first few hands and players were already rebuying. 

most of the players started with 1.500 to 2,000 PHP.

That is how aggressive the players are at the Kings Card Club. Someone raise the pot to 250 (which is actually small as the raise preflop in the room ranges from 250-350 and the range of the players is quite huge.)

It is advisable that if you hit something on the board. you better be prepared to raise it big. anything less than 400 it callable for them.

Shifting to another table

Shifting to another table. which was a bad decision but we wanted to test the players. what we earned on one table was destroyed in a few hands.

The Kings Card Club is definitely the place to play in Cagayan de Oro but be prepared.

Our mistake was simple. it was a rainbow board and we hit top pair. Leading the bet. we were called. 

The problem with Cagayn De Oro is simple and yet it is what players would want.

If there can be a perceived draw on the turn, they will call.  it is best to bet somewhere from 400 and above.

If it is possible that on the turn they will have a gutshot or a flush draw. they would call. leaving you blind sided if the draw came out.

Twice it happened to us where a player has a possible draw on the turn base on the flop and called our bet on the flop. only to be called again on the turn once they have a draw.

The first one was our opponent had one over card on the flop, (Ace on a nine-high board) where he got a flush draw on the turn, where he hit the flush on the river. and next was a gutshot on the turn.

It is definitely great to play at the Kings Card Club as you would be paid if their draws don’t come out on the turn as they would fold. 

Still the trip to the airport was great due to the Magnum Van was quite roomy which made the trip enjoyable and it was walking distant from the poker room.
