We are back in Manila but let us share our experience of the very first tournament of the newly open Legal poker room in Cagayan de Oro.
The First Higalaay poker tour was held from August 30 – September 3, 2023.
We just came from the Kadayawan 2023 that was held in Metro Card Club Davao and it was our first time heading to Cagayan De Oros.
Just a few spoilers. it was great. we highly recommend players to visit their next tour and you will not regret it.

Plains and cars
There are direct flights from Manila to Cagayan De Oro. Looking at the current rate with a quick search in Google. The cost for a one-way trip is 3k PHP (which is the most expensive as it is on the day of booking).
The trip would be less than an hour.
For this trip, we came from Davao, and we took a quick plane ride to Cagayan. The land trip would last 8 hours coming from Davao,
Other players visited Siargao and Surigao and it was still easy to get to Cagayan De Oro.
Note: the taxi to the airport might be a little costly ( ranging from 600-800 PHP) but their are buses available to bring you to the city which is a fraction of the cost)

The city is actually quite urbanized and there are lots of malls located near the poker room.
Robinson Mall, Ayala Mall, and even an SM City Premier.
The poker room is located behind the SM Mall and part of the Lim Kiet Kai. which is another mall.
Various restaurants are available that you can find in Manila including Starbucks, McDonalds, Figaro, a Japanese resto and a Krispy Kreme cafe all located conveniently near the poker room.
There is even a 4-star hotel which is the luxe conveniently located near the room.
Red Planet is also available.
For our stay, we were in Mesa Verte which is a newly opened condo and the amenities were great. We recommend players to look for condos near the Area.
Cagayan downtown is like the old Greenbelt in Makati and some areas are like the fort.

Kings Card Club can definitely compete with some of the poker rooms in Manila if we are talking about the ambiance.
The room was quite classy and modern. Both tables and chairs were of high-end quality. although the chairs were quite high for the table. we were informed that remedies would be done after the event.
The in-house food was great. We especially love the Tocino and Lumpiang Shanghai.
It is a newly open poker room, except for some kinks but it only means it can only get better.
The room was well-ventilated and they even had a VIP room for the high cash game.
During the event, the big games were good, and after the vent tables were running which is a good sign.
A definite must visit again.

The room was beautiful, the people were friendly and everything about the trip was memorable.
