Goodbye March
March 2020 may have been a very bad month to a lot of poker players as the Coronavirus created havoc not only in the industry but to the whole world. A lot of tournaments have been canceled and even till now, some tournaments like the WSOP are still uncertain whether it will push through.
April 2020 may not be the best start of the month but it is here, With most countries are in a lockdown or strict quarantine. We hope you are coping up well. If you have Been feeling extra anxious and worried lately? It’s okay, we’re feeling it too. The global coronavirus outbreak is difficult for a lot of pokers players, both to our physical health and our mental health, and frankly, most of us aren’t sure what to do.

Following the trend last month, A lot of the tournament that was scheduled this month in Asia has been canceled.

The good

Our plan is to update it every week. it is base on the GPI. as live poker has slowed down. we will update it every month instead.
Charity and helping each other
The lockdown has affected a lot of the players. but it has also brought out some of the best of other poker players.
One of the biggest poker unions in the Philippines organized a charity drive to give to the less fortunate people. they are even having a nonpoker related contest to reward people as an effort the keep the peace and help people. PinoyDonks recently held a 500k tournament which went up to 950k. We heard that they will have a 3 Million GTD tournament soon. due to the gray area that pp poker lives by. they can not openly promote yet.
Tragedy can bring the best and worst out of people. Some people chose to have fun while doing things. These are the times that we are challenged to rise above.
We saw one group photo in social media making donations wearing the famous ninja group from the manga Naruto. as we can not verify the true ownership. we hope the photo is true.
We are also organizing a charity drive for the people in our area who are not being aided by the government. Lockdown can seriously hamper people and there are those who are not fortunate enough to even buy food.
This pandemic is a tragedy but it must pull us up instead of down. there are those who are less fortunate in your area that may need help.
Some of the Casino in Manila have stepped up and doing a lot of effort to help. You do not need to be rich to help.

Help Groups and assist group
A lot of help groups have been set up. some of this is in support of fellow poker players. there are now quite a few support groups who are helping each other to become strong.
Buy, sell and pawn groups have also materialized. If players need help in selling or pawning stuff. these groups are there to help
Many people are saying there is a second poker boom. due to many people are forced to stay at home. Online poker companies are competing to be the player’s choice. GG poker just announces a series of promotions that aim to attract the players. however, there are countries where GG poker is now allowed and must use a VPN.
Natural 8 and APT just recently announced a poker tour that will be held on April 29. the special tournament will be an online tournament and trophies will be shipped to the players instead.
the platform that will be utilized is the Natural 8 platform.
Natural 8 is part of the GG Network but operates independently as a skin. GG Poker may have Daniel Negreanu as a pro but Natural 8 has some good pros. as well
WPT will also have the same format however, for now, it will only be available in selected countries.

The main event is a USD 100,000 poker tournament for only USD 88.

the first one was held last year on December 1.2019 were more than 1,000 players joined.

Some Countries may have their lockdown lifted soon while some are only being started. however, the world has already changed.
New norms and habits must be formulated and practice as we enter into a new era.
Apps like Upoker may be the future as there have been a good number of players that have shifted to playing Upoker instead of the traditional poker sites.
April may be the beginning of a new era. we just have to wait and see.
