Recap and Aftermath
GG Millions now is a wrap and the first non-Filipino has won the event.
Yesterday 58 players return out of 342 entries for Day 2, 2 of Metro card Pro returned but was eliminated early.
3 of the leg champions qualified for day 2. but it was Jenjen Pilao that went deepest.
For day 2 things went fast from 58 to 42 as there were a lot of short stacks. Action slowed down during fin3 tables to 2 tables.
The whole tournament action can be easily described as things would slow down to a crawl and then suddenly being eliminated one by one.
for example, from 2 tables to the final table was actually quite fast as we struggle to catch up.
But in the final table, it took two hours before a player was eliminated. It was a battle of will. You had to have that strong of willpower
It was obvious some players were tired after such a long day and made crucial mistakes.
John Clyde Tan was the first to be eliminated after two hours in the final table.
Chun Yuan Chen, Almost got Eliminated next in a pre-flop ship. but the river saved him giving him a much-needed double-up.
Jharome Pena, was all skills that day as he could not win the flips, especially against Mr. Red who was the one to Eliminate him.
Gerardo Lubas III, meanwhile struggled in the final table as he just couldn’t get a break. On his last hand, two players called him and were ahead until the river gave Ronn a straight which sent Julius packing and was eliminated in 7th place.
Ronn Ryan Mesina, who had a good stack coming in the final table was outplayed and out of luck. He was at seat 9 while Richard Nakila was at seat 1. Early on the final table, Those two were at each other throats every time we visit the table. but Alas, after getting the stack of Julius he was eliminated soon after.
Meanwhile, after a dealer change, it was all downhill for Darren Yu. One of the short stacks for day 2, It was amazing he survived that long. but one dealer hit him hard and he lost 3 consecutive hands. On the last hand, Darren Shoved with K7, and his opponent called with pocket six.
The flop gave an advantage to Darren as he hit his 7. The turn was another 7 which puts Darren in the lead. but the river was one of the two remaining 6 which gave his opponent the full house.
Richard Nakila was doing good almost all throughout Day 2, but one crucial mistake was all it took which brought him down to mortal realms after having enjoyed a good chip lead.
Giving Jenjen Pilao a check-check on the turn after a bet raise on the flop, It went downhill after that as Jenjen Pilao hit the two pairs and made Richard Bleed a lot of chips.
He received a lot of scolding from his friends after that.
JenJen Pilao, Leg 4 Champion, was aggressive on the final 3. He was calmly playing his game all through Day 2. The FInal took a long time. Almost had an even stack and it was good gameplay and the others were playing tight.
Every Blind count.
In the end, he was called and eliminated. But he came close to become the first leg champ to do a repeat.
