MANILA, Philippines – President Duterte and his team in an attempt to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus in the Philippines has ordered all domestic ports, domestic seas, and Land in the Philippine’s most populous region. The Duterte government began this Sunday, March 15, a lockdown of Metro Manila.
Implemented at midnight, the National Capital Region or NCR which has over 12 million people was placed in a state of “community quarantine,”.
While the lockdown is scheduled for a month which will end on April 14, The Malacañang with the inter-agency task force, Which leads the government efforts in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak. could recommend to President Rodrigo Duterte an earlier termination or extension of the lockdown as they see fit.
The Metro lockdown covers 16 cities and one municipality of Metro Manila, as prescribed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
