Hey, Poker Playas!
APPL might have wrapped up, we already know who he is the champion. but it doesn’t mean the whole story was told.
There are still quite a few stories that remained unpublished.
Taking a time off and having a few days to focus on the stories instead and redesigning a few stuff. it is a nice way to step back before moving forward.
That is because October may be a slow month but November will be. THe RVS 2022 will be happening and after that the APT.

There are just that many tournaments and when you add the fact you need to win twice to get noticed. because let us admit, as far as the poker house is concerned. Final table phot0 and the champion photo. The rest are just part of an album.
It doesn’t mean there were not that many good players there. There was a lot.
And there were also a lot of great guys due to a twist of fate that changed the outcome.
Here is one of those stories now.
2011
Czar Ian Marcos burst into the poker scene in 2011.
But it would take another 2 years before he was able to secure his first trophy.
It was in the APT Ironman challenge side event that was being held at Resort world where he finally taste his fist official win.
It seems he really loves APT as most of his cashes recorded were APT wins.
He even went to Cebu to play the APT.
A lot of players actually recognize that if APT was in Resort World. Czar Ian Marcos would be playing, as he had also turned Resort world into his second home.
The fast life and the unhealthy Lifestyle
Staying up late, eating whatever he wanted, playing the game he loved.
“Bad habits lead to late night ending alone, Conversations with strangers I barely know, swearing it would be the last but it probably won’t”
Ed Sheran
He lived the way he chose to live. But then like a thief in the night. Karma struck
the pandemic and the stroke
The pandemic struck and all gaming operations were ordered close. His main source of income disappeared.
And then the Stroke.
Tragedy after tragedy, Karma hit him hard, and years of abuse finally took their toll.
Although things were bad at the start, Human beings are after all resilient. He woke up and realized he has to change for the better.
As the world returned to normal slowly. Czar Ian Marcos started becoming a different man.
2022
Czar Ian Marcos has now changed his lifestyle. He doesn’t stay up late and stuff. he began to monitor more on what he eats.
He even miss the APT RWM Mystery bounty weekend because it would mean he had to stay up late, He wasn’t ready. There are more important things to take care of in his life and health is one of them.
But when he was ready. He hit hard with a vengeance.
APT Philippines 2022 – May 2022
Feeling he was ready to play deep again. His first Live poker appearance was the APT PH 2022, He wanted people to know he is back.
Although his Main event was good finishing 14th place on the main event. He felt he could do more.
Next, he finished Second place in the Championship Event. He did his best but Moe Saquing had the lead. Still not bad for a player who has not played for years.
APPT open Manila – June 2022
Next came the APPT Open Manila, He still needed to monitor the events he could play and be selective due to his health. But for the Main Event. He was able to reach the final table and Finished in 8th place.
APPL and the twist of fate
Czar Ian Marcos did great on the day. 1securing himself with a good stack. he probably was the chip leader for that day 1.
But day 2 was a hard day for him.
The tournament began at 1 PM but day 2 was stretched beyond his normal hours.
No longer used to staying up late, He could not continue to put up his A game.
It was already past midnight and the organizers wanted the tournament to end with only the final 8. He led the group to request to finish the game and just returned to day 3 but it was not accepted. Although the tournament director tried to end it early realizing the mistake the Koreans pushed. Two players wanted the match to continue.
He had no choice but to battle his sleepiness while trying to remain focused on the game. Until finally only 8 players were left and it was a wrapped.
APPL Day 3
Out of the 8 players that remained. he was part of the bottom 3, William Teoh from Malaysia amassed most of the chips and it would be a hard climb to the top.
the fate will be decided on one crucial hand. If he doubles up, he stood a better chance to bring it down.
There were 3 Filipinos in the final 8, most players were banking on him or Maxwell Philippe Rosete the Bimbybap to bring it home. But it was against Bimby that sealed the fate of that one crucial hand.
He went All in on the top two pairs while Bimby called with. straight on the flop.
It was a “do or die” situation but in the end Bimby hand-held and went on to become the champion. while he only finished 7th place.
Another chance for a trophy that disappeared.
The next Episode
