The pandemic may not be over but live poker tournaments are back. May 2022 was actually quite a busy month. There were many good tournaments that happened in May.

Too many as we would remove the APT Philippines 2022 as it deserved a separate list on its own.

One of the most worthy things to mention is how 3 organizers stuck with offering well-structured tournaments and continue to push forward the industry to be better.

Here. a quick rundown 

Filipinos at the World Poker Tour Prime Vietnam

WPT Prime Vietnam was held in the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi, Vietnam. A few Filipinos went there to test it out hoping to conquer it. Here. alist of the Filipino who did great in Vietnam

Flo Campomanes – Champion – Super Stars Challenge Invitational

Flo Campomanes won the first WPT Primes Vietnam Highroller event introduced this year in WPT Vietnam. The Super Stars Challenge Invitational with a buy-in of VN₫ 210,000,000 (~US$ 9,100) and attracted WSOP bracelet winners Kartik Ved (India), Mike Takayama (Philippines), and Vietnamese pros Nang Quang Nguyen, Huu Dung Nguyen, Trong Hieu Ngo.

Flo received VN₫ 1,832,000,000 (~US$ 79,067) first prize.

Christopher Mateo – Champion – Event 6: Bounty – VN₫ 172,000,000 (~US$ 7,420)

Christopher “big time” Mateo won event 6 winning VN₫ 150,000,000 top prize. In addition, Mateo won 11 bounties worth VN₫ 2M each to pocket a total of VN₫ 172,000,000 (~US$ 7,420).

Mike Takayama – 2nd place – Super highroller 

Mike Takayama was denied the title at the WPT super Highroller event. however, he did earn a good amount in the event. earning VN₫ 1,165,000,000 (~US$ 50,270) for his effort, definitely a good payday for MIke.

Dave Spade – 10th place in Headhunters and 9th place in another event.

Dave Spade also ran deep in the WPT Vietnam but no titles but many close calls. Dave is the head of the ActionPH and recently delivered big in ending 3rd place in the championship event at the APT Philippines 2022.

Conrad Lumaban delivers big on the Masters Poker Bluff Masters.

Masters poker , the poker club in Malate held its first major tournament last Sunday. it also included a pre-event but one players made a sweep securing both the pre-event and the main event.

Conrad Lumaban – back-to-back winner as the Masters poker Bluff Masters.

Conrad Lumaban hit the first Major tournament of the Masters Poker in a back-to-back sweep.

What is funny is that he was actually sitting on the same chair and same position in two final tables.

Conrad Lumaban has been a long-time grinder in the Manila whose story. is actually quite interesting as he actually started from scratch

Maxwell Philippe Rosete wins the PPT 2022

Bimby is actually well-loved by a lot of people due to his very friendly nature and is now armed with the right fundamentals. This could just be a start of a good year.
