Vamerdino “vamvam27” Magsakay, is the Bounty Builder Series 2022 Main Event – Low champion and winner of $75,256 in total prizes!
He is also the first Filipino to win a Sunday million. A truly impressive feat by Vam!

Who is Vamerdino Magsakay?
Vamerdino Magsakay is one of the 4 kings of the local poker scene. Players who have been known to be playing both live and online and going great.
Vam has been rated as one of the best online players in the past. Last year alone he ran deep in one of the biggest online events in Pokerstars. He finished 4th in one of the SCOOP events winning more than 300k USD in the process.
But that was not enough.
This time Vam made sure he took home the gold.
The $55 Main Event – Low took on an entirely different pace from the other main event that day. Stacks were deeper and play a little slower.
But Vam was determined to win this event. although he was against tough players like Muggsyboges, who won the BBS 164: $109 Big Knockouts event for $17k just a few days before, and was on for another big score.
Muggsyboges was Vam’s heads-up opponent. It was not an easy battle until Vam scored a decisive victory.
Muggsyboges, with only 8bb remaining, had managed a neat ladder up to the second place. A few hands later and the short stack was forced to shove K♣ 8♠. vamvam27 called with K♠ J♥ and it was all over.
On the Live poker scene!
Vamerdino Magsakay also made news in the last two recent live poker events in Manila.
In the Manila Super Series, he did run deep in the main but what was amazing was he took down two side events.
He took down Event 5 and Event 12.
He also run deep in the main of the Asian poker tour – APT RWM Mystery Bounty weekend held recently at Resort World Manila.
He was the terminator of the bubble but a bad beat stop his rin on the main.
And the year is just beggining.
With 2 new poker rooms and more organizers announcing there live tournament structure. This could be the year of the VAM.
But definitely. this quarter big winner is Vamerdino Magsakay and we hope his good run continue this 2022.
