January 2022 is about to end. If the first month is the sign of what is to come, then it was perfect.
At the start of the year, there was a surge in the number of people that were infected. It became a challenge that all rooms had to face.
The Surge – accepting the truth and moving forward.
Let us admit that it is not an easy problem to deal with. On one side you need to protect the people from getting infected while on the other side we can not just keep having lockdowns and stop all business activities.
If we keep stopping business from operating. a lot of people will not be able to feed their families.
In the end, the best is to accept it and formulate new plans to fight the disease.
How we would face it will define the future.
Poker really reflects society as a whole. How the poker rooms reacted to the challenge at the beginning of the year have proven this.
There are rooms that pretended there is no problem and reprimanded those people who would speak out the truth.
Hiding in the back room and doing all sorts of silly moves.
Then there are those who accepted the problem, publicly said: “Hey, this is the truth and we have to step up our health protocols again. yes maybe it is inconvenient but we had to do this for the player’s benefit.”

Master Poker Club – facing the challenge head-on
A lot of people got sick at the beginning of the year. Let us admit that. so much so that Metro Manila went under alert level 3 once again.
Master Poker club halted all of its operations in order to beef everything up.
General cleaning was in order!
From cleaning and washing the whole room once again, Chips, cards, lamers, and everything were needed to be disinfected.
Troublesome, Yes! but it was done!
Poker rooms are allowed to open, but the Master needed to make a general cleaning. So it was close for a few days.
They even secured a machine to test everyone before they can enter the room. It was a swab test that gives quick results at no extra cost to the players.
Only when you test negative are you allowed to enter.
Double masks are now insisted. As there are all sorts of masks that may not be of standard. The Master Poker Club insists you use one of the high-grade masks before you enter.
Barriers are present on the tables.
Yes, the surge was a problem, and enforcing added protocols that were inconvenient to the players affected their business. But it had to be done.
Note: Master Poker Club did try and reach out to us in order to inform us of their new measures to ensure the safety of the players. but due to unforeseen factors, we were not able to communicate with them properly.
Nowadays, they scaled down on the testing for each player but insist on the double masks. Temperature checks and other basic new normals are enforced. As for vac status, Currently, only Vac people are allowed to go outside their homes due to alert level 3. but all staff are fully vac and have taken booster shots.
A glimpse of what will be 2022
The solution to the pandemic will not be instant. We have to accept what it is. It might take a few years before a true solution can be found.
But we need to also move forward.
It is easy to pretend there is no problem and hide in the backroom.
Or face the problems head-on and chose to do something different.
Poker can be used to promote for people to get the shot and get booster shots. To promote safety measures and educate the masses.
