Some have won good events already and could be the next big champion. Rumors have it that one of the big 3 Emperors is now supporting and teaching them. Hence it would not be a surprise that this year they finally hit it.
Yeah they might be scary looking but they are generally nice guys.
Here is the bratpack
BJ Perez
Bell John Perez or BJ had multiple scores over the years and quite a few of them are over half a million pesos.
But he has yet made any big score.
The question of whether this guy is a skillful player is undoubtedly answered. It is just that the time is still not right yet.
Could 2022 be his year?
It is possible since this guy’s deep runs had him face big players. so the amount of skills and experience has been accumulating for years.
It is only a matter of when?
Christopher “Bigtime” Mateo
Big time is already an APT champion. there is no denying he is capable of great things. His ability and boldness to raise any hand and pull off a great bluff or suddenly trap an opponent and take all their chips are quite amazing.
A dull blade can still kill. there no denying that and he has had great achievements. But there something seems missing from the big time that we even find baffling. There seems to be a lack of focus in his game which is why he could be great one minute and out the next.
but maybe 2022 could be his year. With one of the big 3 in his corner. who knows what could happen.
Jaja Leoncio
A series of unfortunate incidents is the one that stopped Jan Jansen Leoncio or Jaja to reach his goal.
Last December, just when the tournament are back in Manila. Due to a personnel issue. Jaja was not allowed to continue to play Day2 of the special tournaments until things could be settled.
Things were settled but it still prevented him from playing the event further.
Now that it is all fixed. we do hope there would be no more unforeseen events for this bright and talented player.
Harold Neal Ruaya
Over the years Harold has made some fantastic runs in poker. Winning a few side events here and there. running deep in the main.
But he just has not really hit something really big.
He had won events or cash more than 200k in many events. but none has more than 500k.
Not to say he is not a good player. he is just not there yet.
Maybe all of that could change this 2022.
WIth live tournaments coming back. We do hope some players do start winning big as well. THe Philippines have many great talents. There are many hidden talented players that just have not received their big break.
Maybe this year would be the year of the bratpack? who knows. time will will tell.
