Summer 2025

Hey, Poker Playas!

The Day After — Cebu Stands Tall

Two major tournaments have just wrapped up in Cebu.
And while they may not have carried the massive guarantees offered by the big rooms in Manila—that was never the point.

This wasn’t just about prize pools.
This was Cebu stepping up, standing toe-to-toe with the capital, and saying:
“We belong here.”

It was about a poker room outside Manila not just running a tournament, but sharing its identity, its culture, and its spirit—showing the rest of the country what Cebu poker truly represents.

Community. Passion. Grit. Growth.

And if the past few days are any indication, Cebu isn’t just keeping up—
it’s carving out its own path.

VOYAGER POKER CLUB

Departure Reflections — Until Next Time, Cebu

Leaving for Cebu on an early morning flight.
But instead of rushing to the airport, I’ve decided to spend these last quiet hours writing from the poker room—a place that’s become more than just felt and chips.
It feels like waking up from a daydream, slowly stepping back into reality after living in something rare and beautiful.

Summer 2025 will be one to remember.

My flight boards at 4:30 AM, and I plan to leave Voyager by 2:30, spending the final stretch at one of the country’s best airports. But honestly, I’ll miss this room the moment I walk out.

Because Voyager isn’t just a poker room—it’s a place of rediscovery.
Every year, it gives me space to reflect, to grow, and to quietly evolve into a better version of myself.

The Cebu poker scene continues to rise—not through flashy guarantees or risky promises, but through consistency, character, and connection.
Unlike Manila’s “Field of Dreams” approach, Voyager has chosen substance over spectacle. And it shows.

I truly hope to see it grow even bigger in my lifetime.
But for now, I leave with a grateful heart, renewed purpose, and memories I’ll carry with me all the way back to Manila.

Thank you, Cebu. Until next time.

BACK TO MANILA — REVOVERY

Back in Manila — A Moment to Breathe

After arriving yesterday, we’ve taken a bit of time to pause and recuperate from the entire journey.
The Cebu trip—especially the IVP Cup—was intense, inspiring, and exhausting in all the best ways.
Now, with a short break behind us, we’re slowly setting our sights on the Manila poker scene once again.

We plan to visit a few rooms in the coming days.
But expectations are tempered—some still operate like mom-and-pop shops, clinging to old strategies, running on day-to-day survival mode. And that’s where the contrast becomes crystal clear.

Voyager has redefined what poker rooms outside Manila can be.
While others scramble to keep the lights on after each high-stakes gamble, Voyager is strategic, consistent, and evolving.

They’ve already scheduled their next tournament for July, and while we haven’t heard any news of a major series yet, word is they’re setting their sights on a million-guaranteed event soon.

And that’s the difference.
Where others gamble to survive, Voyager plans to grow.
