Hey, Poker Playas!
In just a few more days, we’ll be flying to Cebu for one of the most anticipated events of the year — the Chase Cup 2025 (or Chase Cup 2)! Excitement is already in the air as we prepare to cover and take part in what promises to be one of the biggest poker events in Cebu this year.
With Cebu rapidly establishing itself as a major poker hub, the Chase Cup is shaping up to be a can’t-miss tournament for players and fans alike. We’re ready to bring you full coverage, stories from the felt, and all the action as it unfolds.
Stay tuned — the chase for glory begins soon!
Chase Cup 2025: Two Majors Announced — But More Could Be Coming
As we gear up for Chase Cup 2025, two headline events have already been confirmed:
-
A Mini Main Event with a ₱1 Million Guarantee
-
The Main Event boasting a ₱3 Million Guarantee
But that’s not all.
Before we left Cebu last month, we were told by insiders that more side events are in the works — including a ₱500K Guaranteed Freezeout Freeroll. These additional events have yet to be officially announced, but we expect to clear the air once we land in Cebu.
With the way things are shaping up, Chase Cup 2025 might be one of the most stacked and exciting series Cebu has seen this year.
Stay tuned — more updates coming as soon as we touch down in the Queen City of the South.

Cebu’s Rise: A New Era of Competitive Poker
One of the best things about the evolving Cebu poker scene is its growing focus on tournaments. There’s always something happening, and this consistent schedule has drawn in a wave of new players, keeping the energy alive and the competition fierce.
While Manila may boast larger guarantees, Cebu shines in other areas—particularly with its commitment to side events and lower-GTD tournaments that still deliver excitement and value.
Unfortunately, some poker rooms in Manila have developed a reputation for frequently canceling guaranteed events, often pointing fingers at player turnout. One poker room—well-known and located in a pink-themed casino—was even considered the top offender in this regard last year.
In contrast, Cebu takes pride in its reliability. Canceling a tournament here is virtually unheard of. Even in the face of overlays, organizers push forward. Reputation matters, and instead of shifting blame, Cebu poker rooms focus on creating value and finding ways to bring players in, not push them away.
As Cebu continues to grow, it’s clear: this city is fast becoming the true battleground for competitive poker in the Philippines.
Cebu: A Summer Feast Awaits
Cebu has always been known for its amazing food scene, and this summer, we’re ready to indulge once again. Of course, lechon sits at the top of the list — crispy, flavorful, and a must for anyone visiting the Queen City of the South.
But with the heat of summer fully upon us, we’re equally excited for cooler treats like halo-halo, buko shakes, and other local favorites that offer sweet relief from the sun.
From food trips between tournaments to late-night bites after long poker sessions, Cebu is set to serve up more than just action at the tables. It’s going to be a fun, flavorful summer — and we’re all in for it.
Cebu: More Than Just Poker – A Paradise Worth Exploring
Cebu isn’t just a rising poker hotspot — it’s also one of the Philippines’ top tourist destinations. With stunning beaches, rich history, and vibrant culture, there’s so much more to experience beyond the felt.
This summer, we’re hoping to finally make time to visit some of Cebu’s most iconic spots, including:
-
🏰 Simala Shrine – a majestic and peaceful pilgrimage site.
-
✝️ Magellan’s Cross – a symbol of the country’s early Christian roots.
-
⛪ Basilica Minore del Santo Niño – the oldest Roman Catholic church in the Philippines.
-
🏯 Taoist Temple – offering panoramic views and a spiritual escape.
-
🌹 10,000 Roses Café – a scenic and Instagram-worthy destination.
-
🛡️ Fort San Pedro – a glimpse into Cebu’s Spanish colonial past.
Hopefully, we get the chance to explore these places in between events. After all, Cebu is as rich in culture as it is in poker action — and we’re here to enjoy both.
