It really looks like it did.
The particular poker room is promoting another poker room better than the other poker room in promoting its own brand.
Then again, this is the type of information we would not be privy to. so who really knows the answers?
As the industry is changing and as it begins to grow. some rooms are doing better. establishing their own identity in a ever changing and competitive world.

Nowadays there are a lot of “Experts” who seem to claim what a poker room should do.
Like snake oil peddlers, They would claim you should make a big guarantee tournament with low buy-in or this and that.
Recently, the IVP Cup was held, it was a success as the guarantee was almost doubled. contrary to what experts claim to be what Voyager should do. It was a modest guarantee and a normal buy-in.
Voyager Poker Club banked on what the South was known for. Hospitality.
Instead of selling the guarantee, it sold fun! The biggest poker party in Cebu. Sadly it was not A party but parties instead. Every night there was almost a drinking session. VIP Sections to the two biggest clubs in Cebu.
The Cash games were active, almost every night the room was full.
Of course, it would be better if something were added. but for a small room that is located outside Manila. It is doing great.
It has established its own identity in a very competitive industry.
They can only grow, We are definitely looking forward to their next event.

Quality over Quantity
2Ace poker, formerly known as GG poker, had a bad start after the pandemic. but just because you have a bad start doesn’t mean it is over.
There new tournament is actually doing well and the last day 1 is scheduled for today.
Just imagine, A 40,000 starting stack, 30 minutes per level and you can still go in before the registration closes and is above 20 BB. ( We believe that the blinds after the registration closes are 1,000/1,500/1,500 ante).
Of course, it is still a question mark what day 2 will be since they only set the tournament for 2 days. But at least they are growing and changing.
Giving Manila players a place to play that has a decent structure for an affordable price. The value is definitely there!
With 100 entries left before they smash the guarantee. It is looking good for 2Ace poker.
