Hey, Poker playas!
We are now in the second quarter of 2023. Let us briefly summarize what happened in the first quarter and how it would affect the whole year.
The first quarter came with a bang as it was a busy time for the players.
But then as fast as the fireworks started, a brief stop happened and sadly the first quarter ended with disappointment.
Thankfully, there are more open-minded and allowed the true south (Visayas and Mindanao) to have independence hence the action never stops for Poker players in the Philippines.
January 2023
Sinulog 2023
Voyager Poker Cub – Cebu
Although technically another tournament was the first to hold a poker event. It offered not much to the players.
Thankfully, the Sinulog festival was also held. Manila Players did travel to Cebu to take part in the festival.
Voyager poker club also held a PHP 2m GTD tournament. It was well received and some players even stayed to enjoy the beauty of Cebu.

After that, it was Metro Card Club’s PPT. Although defending Champion, Maxwell “Bimby” Rosete played the event it was Jharome that took home the crown.

No tournaments were held at the beginning of February as the scheduled event decided to hold their tournament elsewhere. As the schedule was locked.
GG Million Leg 7
2ace Poker
Conrado Pumicpic or Ponga Superstar took down Leg 7 and now has a seat in the battle of champions. Leg 8 will be held on April. 10-13, 2023
Kalilangan FEstival
Gensen Poker Club
Another Pokwe room in the south made it presence felt in 2023.
Gensan is the Tuna Capital of the Philippines and we certainly enjoyed our time there. Although it is a small poker room.
The action was better than in some rooms in Manila.

Team Cagayan took down this event as Wennie Odog secured the win for team Cagayan.

Araw ng Davao
Metro Card Club Davao
It was Metro Card Club Davao’s time to shine as they held the Araw ng Davao poker tournament.
It was a great event as the pot went up to 1.4 Million Pesos and 400k Was the Champion Purse.
It was a long battle especially the heads up as both players wanted the trophy more than the money.
Alex Cruz was the one that secured the victory for this event. a local grinder from Gensan.
4th year anniversary
Voyager Poker Club Cebu
Voyager Poker Club celebrated its 4th year anniversary with a PHP 1M poker tournament.
Although only 2 players from Manila came. They exceeded the pot.
Richard E from Germany secured the victory for this event.
