David Erquiaga or Dave spade was definitely running hot this year. bagging or finishing second place in main events. cashing in a few more tournaments here and there.
It was a good year for Dave Spade.
But it did not happen overnight as other people think. the sad fact is that there are just too many champions. Unless you win back-to-back on the Main events. you are barely noticeable.
So let us look deeper.

Prior to 2022, Dave Spade was winning on a lot of side events. Although he was cashing on the main. there was not a big main event he was able to secure.
Hence he was number 2 on the GPI prior to the pandemic but was never really noticed.
The problem is that some media only focus on Main events. hence news doesn’t really go out that much on winners of side events.
But there was that bud waiting to bloom.
2022
2022 was the year that Dave finally start bagging main events.
Hitting second in the Main event of poker dream Malaysia (focusing only on Main events. he had multiple cash and trophies on side events). Then finally hitting 1st at the WPT Cambodia main event.
He also bagged the championship event at the Resort world or Newport World Resort. of course there are many other things he won this year including other main events. But without a doubt, Dave was running hot this year.

Dave also fully launch his coaching school this year. it is a way to help other players to improve their game.
With the help of Masters Poker. he was finally able to slowly fix the poker school and had many students registered.
Some of the top pros of PH also supported this move including Vamerdin0 Magsakay and Florencio Campomanes.
ActionPh was also active in helping players get funding in order to play events.
Definitely a good move to help the community as supporting the community will help the industry to grow.
2023
Dave Spade has already posted his schedule for the game he would play in the first quarter and it is looking like a hectic schedule.
Can he make 2023 also his year or will he even reach higher heights? We wished him well in his endeavor and we definitely would write about it.
