WSOP 2022 – The pride of the nation

Hey, Poker Playas!

The Pride of the Philippines now rests in the hands of 2 Filipinos who are still playing the main event of the World Series of Poker 2022.

A total of 8,663 entrees joined the Main event and it is now Day 3.

Mike Takayama and Lester Edoc are doing their best to bring home the much-coveted main event bracelet in order the prove to the world that Filipinos are great poker players too.

 So far here is what happened.

Mike Takayama – The Undisputed

The Undisputed is the one leading the pack, That is because if there is anyone who really wanted to win this event it is Mike Takayama.

It is not about the money, it is about bringing pride to our nation.

He knows what it felt like when the Philippine anthem was blasted to the hallway of the WSOP. He felt proud of being a Filipino.

For a whole year, he has done nothing more than study hard. His game has evolved.

And he is now entering Day 3 with a 206,000 stack!

Lester Edoc

Lester Edoc is one of the top 3 best poker players in PH. However, compared to Mike Takayama. He was not as active in the tournament scene the past few months.

Busy with some personal stuff. Still, whenever he plays the game he makes an impact.

Entering Day2D. He qualified for day 3 with 200,000 chips

James “Peng” Mendoza

Peng Mendoza may be a US Citizen now, but he is still a Filipino.

He has qualified on Day 3 and is now hoping to win the event.

He may not be carrying the PH flag when he fights. but Filipinos are still proud of him.

Marc Rivera – Salute to the chief

The chief may be out but we still salute the chief. He proudly entered the WSOP main carrying the PH flag.

He qualified on Day 1 but fell short on Day2abc.

The most respected Filipino poker player did his best. but it is not his time.
