Asia Poker Championship – June 2022 – Day 3

Today is Day 3 of the Asia Poker Championship. A PHP 20 Million GTD is held at the Metro Card Club. it is a PHP 44,000 buy-in (40,000 + 4,000)

So far here are the numbers

Day 1A – 36 Entrees
Day 1B  – 101 Entrees

 so far only 33 players qualified for Day 2.

Many of the Pros have also joined yesterday and qualified.

The chip leader remained to be ChangHwan Lee coming from Day1A.

The grinder from Cebu

A good number of players from Cebu have played the main event of the Asia poker championship. 

Mark Chikoro has won quite a few tournaments and cashed in the APT RWM Mystery Bounty Main event.

He is now gunning to become the champ of the APC.

Henrick Tollefson

APPT Open Main Event Champion

Henrick Tollefson. a regular in the Manila poker scene is now at the APC in Metro Card Club.

Ever since the border opened, Foreign players have come to Manila and some have been doing great.

Henrick also won the APT Warm-up event and recently bagged the APPT Open Main event.

He has now playing day 1C of the APC. will he bagged this event next?

and the battle continues

would Filipino reign supreme? with such a  balance field of new players and local grinders.

A lot of the local champions have lost and got busted but will try for a second bullet tomorrow.

Alexis Lim

The two Alexis Lim have both joined Day1C.

Both were also in the final table of yesterday’s side event.

However, Alexis Lim (Metro Team Pro) finished much higher than Alexis “shot” Lim (the champ from Cebu). As Alexis Lim of the Metro Team Pro finished second place.

Now both are in the main event. Can both Alexis Lim survive and qualify for day 2.

Even the champ of Cebu is now in Metro Card Club playing the Asia Pacific Championship.

Alexis “Shoti” Lim also cashed in yesterday on the Turbo Side event.

The new Pro of Masters Poker has also joined Day 1C.

Everyone is eager to become the champion of Asia Poker Championship.

But there can only be one. Will Hazel get it?

Joven Huerto has also joined Day 1c. The numbers are definitely picking up as we are now at level 3. 

Can they pass 150 today?

Joven Huerto is a veteran and a gentleman. both in and out of the felt. An elder brother to a lot of poker players. He did good in the last Metro event where he end up at the final table on two side events.

As the APC is in Metro Card Club. Is being on his home turf give him some advantage?

The back-to-back Masters Poker Bluff masters champion is Playing Day 1C.

Conrad Lumaban is a regular grinder who made news hitting the pre-event and then the main event of the Bluff Masters series.

Now playing day 1C. We wish him good luck on this event

Many players were affected by the pandemic. the lockdown did hit a lot of us hard.

Many talented players had to find new ways to earn money during the lockdown. They love the game but they need to live. but now that live poker tournaments are back and things are getting better, some players are trying to make a come back and gun for the top.

Ivan Tabucal is one of those talented players who are now trying to make a comeback.
