The Master Poker Club is probably the second oldest poker room in Manila. The Oldest is the Metro Card Club.

So the name itself has been one of the factors that made Master great. It has changed owners over the years but has continued to operate after so many things have happened to Manila.

It has weather tons of storms, floods, and even the pandemic.

but now with a new management team. it might become the poker room that it was meant to be. A Master!

Why it will continue to rule Malate

Let us just be honest about it. Poker rooms are very limited on how to promote their own rooms. A lot of them are really limited to either depending on Agents or creating tournaments. There is really not much to argue on that.

Although the most effective tool is. branding. As proven by the poker room in the pink casino. A lot of the rooms are still not there yet.

Yes, branding is powerful. imagine having the worst structure, and the highest registration fee, and yet people still go there. The brand is the only thing that pushes players to that poker room in the pink casino and everyone knows it.

But for other poker rooms. they rely on agents and tournaments.

How the tournaments of the Master are setting themselves apart.

We have visited a few rooms over the past few days and compared the structure. Sadly it will be only the Master Tournaments we can look forward to.

The reason is that when you finally have real experts in the field or people that truly understand poker players, is the only time that you can have a great game.

Most poker houses treat tournaments as just something to attract players. because yeah, there are just many tournament players.

But the problem begins when the motivation in itself or the goal of the room is corrupted by default.

They build tournaments to attract players but would try to make it as fast as possible in hoping for people to play cash games. You have a game that is akin to a bingo game.

Not the Master, in a recent interview with the management. they made their tournament just right enough where there are periods that it would be fast but also made sure certain levels are slower to make sure that players still enjoy the game.

They put a value on the experience so players will keep coming back. and they do.

Manila always had good a number of poker players. The Master tournament without add-ons and a higher guarantee have always smashed their guarantee.

That is because they have a good tournament structure. They respected poker tournaments and did not turn them into a cheap way to attract players.

Yes, the other poker rooms in Manila have announced they would have bigger tournaments in Manila. but the one the people would look forward to will be the Masters, because it would be a great game.
