Metro Card Club – PPT 2022 – Day 1A
Publish date: May 11, 2022

Hey, poker playas!

Today is Day1A of the Metro Card Club’s Phillippine Poker Tour 2022.

It was 2 years ago before the lockdown since a PPT was held on the Philippines soil.

This promised to be an exciting day although most people do not want to play Day1A as there is a notion that playing the first day 1 is not worth it due to fewer players playing on the field and not enough chips.

However. the past 2 events of the Metro disapproved of this fact. The Metro 750k had Lester Edoc set the bar as the chip leader and was unbeaten.

Next came the Metro Summer Event, where John Matsuda played on day 1A and once again was unbeaten as the overall chip leader of Day 1.

Will someone set the bar today once again?

Also, both past 2 events of the Metro did well and broke the guarantee, however, no Day 1A has broken the 100 player barrier.  it was close to the last Metro summer event. but it was the number that remained elusive.

So stay tuned!

PPT MAIN EVENT DAY1A – Ends

Leonel Edejar finished with 294,000 Chips

Leonel maintained his chips and end the days as the chip leader.

Hazel Timonera, Joven Huerto, PJ Aratea also qualified. official list out soon.

23:00 HRS – PPT MAIN EVENT DAY1A – Level 13 – Blinds 500/800/800 Ante – 17/62 players

Leonel now has more than 200k chips

We sometimes wonder why some people believe that the last day1 is best to play due to there being more players so you can get more chips.

However, the last few tournaments that have a good structure proved this to be otherwise.

We do agree that pros will definitely be good at it as they can hunt the weak players.

But for the past few tournaments, the chip leaders of Day 1 qualified from Day1A.

And currently, Leonel Edejar has 200k chips and it could grow more as there are still a few more levels.

Yes, Pros are good at that, but then when you hear it from bad players. You kinda wonder how they could say such things when they can not even qualify for day 2 based on their past records.

A good number of people will qualify with a good stack today. based on what we see right now, Maybe Edejar chip lead won’t be broken like others before.

But the notion you cannot have a good chip because your playing day1A. that is not really true.

Dave Spade

APT PHILIPPINES 2022

3RD PLACE – CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT

Even after his big win in the championship event in the APT PHILIPPINES 2022. Dave Spade is at the PPT Day1A hoping to qualify early.

Qualifying or surviving Day2 is no easy task, and if you want to be a winner. you always need to always be hungry to win.

because the hunger will be the force to push you forward.

And Dave Spade is always hungry.

21:00 HRS – PPT MAIN EVENT DAY1A – Level 9 – Blinds 400/800/800 Ante – 58 players

Registration will close soon.

Quite a good number of pros have joined Day 1A. But it looks like they would not reach the 100 mark.

There could still be a late surge and will update players after the registration closes.

19:15 HRS – PPT MAIN EVENT DAY1A – Level 7 – Blinds 250/500/500 Ante – 52 players

JOVEN HUERTO – 4TH PLACE – PRE-EVENT

Joven Huerto was successful on the last few days of the APT Philippines 2022. He was hitting it well on the side events.

But yesterday. only a few pros played on the pre-event but Joven Huerto made sure he will make his presence felt.

FInishing 4th place on the pre-event and now fighting on the main.

Joven Huerto. A Metro card club team pro.

Renniel Galvez

Main Event Champion

APT PHILIPPINES 2022

Renniel Galvez, who recently won the main event of the APT Philippines 2022 is also playing Day1A.

Renniel was hot in the last 2 Metro events and also went deep as he was always a final day player.

The drive to win has not changed even after the big win.

But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away

Although he has not picked up his game like when it was before the lockdown. he is definitely getting back to his music and running deeper.
