Publish date: March 10, 2022

Hey, Poker playas!

Time to reload APT RWM Mystery bounty weekend that was held last week at Resort World Manila!

Due to the pandemic, APT could not make any live events for almost 2 years in Manila. Now that restriction was eased they need to make their presence felt and let people know they are still around.

But not only did they make their presence felt. They made a big impact!

Maintaining what makes APT great while adding something new in the mix.

And now we are reloading the final day of the APT RWM Mystery Bounty Weekend.

Hey guys, we just updated this promo we are giving away a few perfumes and some other cool stuff. Courtesy of HT LUXURY, But now we are giving away a seat to Metro Card CLub 750k GTD. just join the survey. winners will be announced next week. Click this link

APT RWM Mystery Bounty Weekend – Final day

“It’s about drive, it’s about power, We stay hungry, we devour”

Now enter the gladiators!

A total of 348 entrees. but only 91 players advance to day 2. that just the way it is. there can after all be only one champion.

There were a lot of big names that survived Day 1. Champions and already living legends. but it was still about who wanted it most.

The biggest threat was of course, Mike Takayama! The emperor. the one that surpasses the ranks of kings!

The only Filipino who has so far won a WSOP bracelet.

When he is at his best, he is unstopable.

Entering day 2 with 125k chips, he is the opponent that must be defeated as soon as possible because once he picks up steam. he would take everyone down.

3 of the 4 kings were also present, Dave Spade, Team captain of ActionPH, Vamerdino Magsakay, Metro Team Pro and ActionPH ambassador, and Kim “The Icebreaker” Enriquez. technical players who are both good in online and live tournaments.

And then there the 3 musketeers! They might now be the tallest players on the felt but they have the hearts of Lions, Regardless of how big the hurdle is they are ready to fight.

Joe Mark “JoMaK” Vasay who recently won the Manila Super Series Main event, Noel “Kid Rock” Arraniel, who was also in the final table of the Manila Super Series finishing 3rd, and then there is Renniel Galvez, who was second on the warm-up in the Super series.

As the tournament began, the Resort world Team is certainly doing a great job. There has been a lot of changes due to the pandemic but it is definitely great that a team from Resort World is handling the staff while the APT team is on top of it, especially the tournament.

Although a lot of us desire to become champions. The battle to become a champion is a long road. and sometimes lady luck must smile in order to win.

Edgar Asehan who has been rising lately and have won some good events when Live tournaments came back hit a wall. He had pocket queens that were called by an Ace-King preflop. He started the day with a medium stack and was on a good run. but luck was to on his side.

Sandy “Hari ng Pinya” Also got hit with a similar fate. but his desire to conquer the Holdem world just keeps growing.

Meanwhile, John tech was an early exit as well. on the last hand of day 1D, he made a great play and played his position shoving his stack in what he believed was a weak player.

As everyone wanted to enter day 2.  He had a good stack but wanted more. He made a calculated risk but his opponent took a gamble. Putting him short stack for Day 2

There were a lot of early casualties on the felt, after all, only 35 will make it into the money.

But some of them were determined to bring home something that is why they jumped into the side event.

Alexis Lim who came all the way from Cebu wanting to play big live tournaments was seen on the side. Joven Huerto who was out of luck on a preflop shove also joined in.

D-Ramsey of the blacklist also decided to join the last event of the APT.

As the cards fly and the number of players left goes down. It was Vemerdino Magsakay smooth move that eliminated the bubble while getting himself a good stack.

Seen together with Janno Alvarez during the break, having a small friendly talk before the tournament resumes. it was a long day for all the players but the battle has just begun.

It was now a race to become a champion. but as we are telling a story that has already happened. what was the champion doing all this time?

Our champion was smoothly drinking his coffee but watching every moment of each action of each player.

You can see in his eyes that he wants to bag this event.

He wants to win!

Although people fought bravely and their desire to become the champion is great as well. It is a competition and there can only be one.

The full list can be seen by clicking this link

There were a lot of great players that made it to the ITM. but it just was not their time.

Alex Cruz, a cash game grinder, Vicente Pena, an old poker veteran who has proven he still has what it takes. Junnie “Rolly Rules” Pamplona. Kim Enriquez, And even Recent Manila super series Main event champion Jomak failed to reach the final 8

Neil Lawrence, the deep stack turbo champion, although he ran deep only finished at 15th. Even Luis “Dhon Dhon” Bernando finished only at 11th

What was surprising was the number 13th spot.

The king of kings, the WSOP Bracelet holder. the champion among champions. The inspiration to a lot of Filipino poker players out there.

Mike Takayama did not have a great day on the felt. He fought hard and Valiantly.

But he got busted out at 13th!

But that is poker, sometimes one bad hand can destroy you. Mike fought great. He was in top form during the event.

But this time the cup was not for him.

Slowly we reach the final table.

The Final 8

Lester “Hazel” Timonera

Renniel Galvez
Lim Choon Kwang
Iori Yogo (Japan)
Janno Alvarez
Mark Chikoro
Jeorge Lagatuz
Terence Navales

Janno Alvarez performed great during the event, he has also been running deep in recent major events. But entering the final 8 short stacks proved to be costly.

Left with only 1 big blind. he was first to exit.

Mark ChiKoro Joson soon followed next. The man from Cebu, who had his whole team cheering for him during all this time Failed to bring home the trophy back.

Iori Yogo, Originally from Japan who now calls the Philippines his home and have been running in recent main events exits at 6th

Regular high stake cash game player, Lim Choon Kwang was steady all throughout the game.

But a confrontation with Jeorge crippled his stack as he believed he had the better hand. That call cost him a lot of chips and soon bowed out.

Rennie Galvez was busted out next but he accumulated the most bounties and the biggest in total bounties. He received more than 370k PHP in bounties which are higher than the third-place prize.

Meanwhile, Navales although had the weaker stack between Lester “Hazel” Timonera and Joerge Lagatuz. He was quite disciplined and was keeping his calm all throughout the game.

He folded a lot of hands that even if it would place him on the short stack and would make a comeback a few times as well.

Jeorge Lagatuz was already the chip leader at this point. He had an overwhelming chip lead that if both Hazel and Navales combined would still be less than Lagatuz stack.

A deal was proposed but due to Jeorge having an overwhelming lead. The game continued until Navales was out.

Yes, Jeorge was ahead in chips, But Hazel had the heart of a Lion.

She is on the final two and she was ready to fight. But they are friends in real life.

Lagatuz and Timonera agreed to split the remaining unopened bounties down the middle for a guaranteed score of PHP 54,650 each.

“Put in the work, put in the hours and take what’s ours (ahoo)”

Hazel has been training and waiting for this day. She wanted to become a champion.

As the Action resumed with Lagatuz was ahead 65 BB to Timonera’s 21 BB. Lagatuz continued his aggression to drag in pot after pot until Timonera got lucky with K Q flush against A 8 on a board 6 7 10 5 5 to avoid elimination. However, lady luck did not strike again. Lagatuz shipped it all on the next shove with A K beating Q 10

It was just was not Hazel time yet. It was Jeorge.

But it is only the first quarter of the year and more and more events are coming.

Jeorge Legatuz proved to be the better players today and he took it down.

As the champagne is poured and the celebration begins. The trophies were awarded.

Jeorge Legatuz became the first APT Main Event champion in Manila for almost 2 years.

APT did such a great event. Resort world definitely great.

We cant wait for their next event which is happening on April.

Congratulations Everyone!

Stay safe poker playas!
