Hey, Poker playas!
Now that tournaments are about to begin again. Who are the odds on favorite to win during the event?
Do you have any favorites?
Who are you rooting for?
Due to the long absence of live poker, things have changed. But have they? here is a closer look!

Is there really an odds on favorite with regards to poker?
Yes, it is true that due to the number of poker players all vying for the top and there can only be 1 champion. Yes, it is hard to predict really who would be the champion.
But poker is a game of skills. and when it comes to skills some Filipinos have what it takes to be a champion.
But then structure-wise. let us admit that due to structure, the odds could change but it does not mean true skills can not shine.
More about how structure affects the probability of good players to win soon.
But a star is a star. although predicting a champion is difficult. So we are focusing only on player we expect to run deep or reach the final table on the next event.
The player who most likely will get a trophy by the end of the event?
Definitely, Mike Takayama!
There is a reason why we are positive that Mike Takayama could bring home a trophy. Because he is definitely the best player in PH plus he would probably end up joining all events!

Not to say Flo and Lester are not good. but they have been selective in the tournaments they play. They may skip out a lot of the events. Who knows?
But Mike Takayama? When he is in tournament mode. he is in tournament mode.
Quite recently in an interview with Jessie Leonarez, he said “That if Mike Takayama was to focus on poker alone, he is unstoppable” and we are inclined to believe he is.
And yes he is in the best form or his beast form lately. He actually could have won a tournament during the Okada Millions and he was almost at a final table every day during the event.
But the CUTE TROPHY of the event would be out of place in his collection and someone else wanted it more. He could not deny other people a chance to have their own trophy to start their own collection. And it is very great to start the collection first with a trophy from a SMALL event. we all have to start somewhere.
He is definitely going to be the biggest threat to any poker player during the event who wants to win a trophy.

The warm-up event
We do admit that we are quite confused with the payout and qualifier of the Warm-up event.
On their official website, it is stated to play down to 5% while on the fine print of the schedule is written 15% will qualify to day2. We would update the players on what it could mean.
However, if it is similar to the format of the Okada Manila Millions. then the best bet would be those who already gone through it.

Jose Colada would be a good bet. He is after all the back-to-back Okada Manila champion and it looks like the warm-up event will have a similar structure.
Then there is also Rolly Rules, Anne Klein DhonDhon, and the other players who ran deep in this event.

Would their advantage on the Okada Manila Millions be a factor in helping them win this event?
Stay tuned as we would write more on the odds on favorite for this event more.
