The 4 kings – Players to watch out for in 2022
Publish date: December 30, 2021

Hey, poker playas!

Yes, there are many talented Filipinos out there. and we want to feature them all. but we wanted to classify them differently.

The big 3 are the big 3.

They have achieved great feats that may take years before someone be able to accomplish again. and it might be them to do it again.

Take example Takayama. he is the first Filipino to win a bracelet. and he came close to winning another one this year. Flo came close to winning an APPT Macau main event but only finished third back in 2015. But in 2019 APPT Manila. finally bagged it making the first Filipino win the event.

But it does not mean the Philippines only has 3 great players. We have a lot but some are classified differently.

Take example the 4 kings.

The four kings

The four kings are different. as they venture into both online and offline poker. They are active in both Live and online Poker.

Hence some of their biggest achievement could be online. Let us get to them one by one.

Dave Spade

Dave Spade is an active poker streamer and has regular viewers. He has cash in a lot of events both live and online.

One of the feats we know he has done online was to end up being in the final table of The USOP.

The only Filipinos to do so.

And he is good on live poker as well, winning a side event on the recently concluded Special tournament at Okada Manila.

Vamerdino Magsakay

The one recognized as the number 1 online poker player in the Philippines. Vam is a true online grinder.

This year alone he came close to bagging a SCOOP event but only finished 4th earning 300k USD in the process.

On the live scene. he recently finished second on the recently concluded Metro Card Club RVS Cup.

His feats online surpass his win on live poker. but he is a great Live player as well.

Kim “The ice breaker” Enriquez.

Kim “The icebreaker Enriquez” is an online grinder. Multi-tabling online like it was nothing.

He makes a living out of it while he would play some of the biggest cash games on live poker as well.

Is he good on live poker? He earned the nickname icebreaker as at one point in time he was really smashing opening events and bagging them left and right.

A feat that is not easy to accomplish. Not to say other players do not win multiple events. but bagging opening events left and right. It is rare.

John Costiniano

John Costiniano is one of the known online grinders ever before the pandemic. He also plays on live tours whenever possible.

His ranking on live poker may not be impressive compared to other players. but he is one of the few that has been steadily earning money online for so many years.

Will we hear big news from him soon? stay tuned!

Stay tune as we feature other players next.

Stay safe Poker playas!
