It is this week’s rundown to catch up on everything about the Poker world in Metro Manila.
The pandemic may have caused a lot of problems. but Filipinos are very resilient. Slowly the world is opening and things are pushing. here a quick rundown.

Due to the pandemic, live poker took a massive break. It took actually close to a year before any poker room could open in Metro Manila.
Although rooms were allowed to open. It was only for a few months before another lockdown on gaming establishments as the government try to control the pandemic.
This is probably the third time poker rooms re-open and hopefully for good.
But due to the on and off lockdowns, rumors have begun circulating that some rooms might not re-open as the owners have back out.
Although poker rooms are trying their best to re-open. the last poker room to re-open before the pandemic was the first one to bail out.
Last Saturday, the Master poker room finally re-open its door making it the 4th poker room to be operating in Metro Manila.
There is still no official word if GG Poker rooms will once again re-open their doors.
5 is on the way.
We broke the news today that another poker room will open soon. making it the first new poker room to open during the pandemic.
It will be located in Malate, Manila, and videos and photos that are shared on social media are quite interesting.
Boasting a very good interior and high-class tables. It could be a good sign for poker players in Manila.
Will poker be back like pre-pandemic days?
It will take some time. Currently, poker rooms are averaging only 3-5 tables per day. comparing it to pre-pandemic days it a huge difference.
There is still a question of whether poker rooms will be allowed to hold tournaments. But as cinemas are allowed and there are barriers. Poker rooms could adopt a no vaccine no play on tournaments with barriers and it could actually be a good combination.
Things are still up in the air but what is important is things are moving forward.
Mercury retrograde also ends today.
