A manga adaptation by Kōsuke Kurose is serialized in the Monthly Big Gangan magazine, and a second adaptation by Masahiro Ikeno runs in the same magazine

What so good about goblins slayer?

Goblin slayer – the setting.

The world of goblin slayer is a fantasy setting. dragons and elves exist. adventurers go out and get quests to gain fame and fortune. 

Although there is magic. The creators actually set limits on the magic that a caster can make.

Goblins are the lowest form of monsters in that world. hence nobody really wants to hunt them and consider them too low class. 

Take note. the manga adaptation or anime is not for children. As it tries to portray a fantasy world with a more realistic setting. Hence violence and nudity became an issue in the manga. Because it needed to show the viciousness of the goblin even if they are considered the lowest the monsters. 

And the main character is due to a past where his loved ones were killed by the goblins. He dedicated his life to killing goblins. 

But after all the lessons are what we are after. but be warn on watching the anime or manga if you are not prepared for it. 

The Lessons

Never underestimate your enemy.

Goblins are considered the lowest of the monsters. as such even adventurers don’t want such quest as they deemed them not worthy. 

They are weak, as they are small and not really intelligent.

At the beginning of the story, a group of adventurers set out to kill the goblins as they thought it was an easy job. but soon ended up being destroyed by the goblins. The goblins started forming groups and adapting. 

People do adapt. hence no matter if you think your opponent is a fish on the table. one day they will learn to adapt. so be careful. 

Practicality vs look

Compared to the other adventurers, The goblin slayer’s choice of armor and weapon is base on practicality. 

For example, a big sword is most of the time useless if the goblins are luring you in cramp spaces. 

Even in poker. it does not matter how much you bet and try to look like a pro. All of that does not matter when you are on a battlefield that is filled with goblins. A lot of times a pro going to a small room believing that he can win as he just won a big championship. it is their home you are attacking and sometimes they just play differently.

Focus on one

One of the biggest problems not only as a poker player but in anything is the need to focus on one. with so many temptations out there. it is difficult. 

How many poker players lost their bankroll on baccarat or cockfighting? especially now that we are in a pandemic. It is easy to be swayed into temptation. 

but along the way. the goblin slayer kept focusing only on killing goblins. nothing but goblins. that in the end, even high-ranking people asked him on dealing with goblin problems.

Goblin Slayer is a nice anime or manga. whichever you want to choose. but be careful of the violence and other stuff. 

But the world we currently live in ain’t really a happy world right now as a lot of people are trying their best and struggling to achieve their goals. 

But remain focus on the goal….. or just kills goblins.
