Quarantine passes are required in Metro Manila during ECQ
Quarantine passes will be required once again during the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, Department of the Interior and Local Government spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said on Monday, August 2.
Malaya said that Metro Manila local government units already notified the interior department about the use of quarantine passes.
In a separate interview with DZMM’s Teleradyo on Monday, Malaya said that the previous Interagency Task Force (IATF) identification cards (ID) could also be reused by authorized persons outside residence (APORs). Company IDs would also be accepted as proof that an individual is an APOR.
Curfew Implemented 8 PM – 4 AM
As a response to the rising COVID-19 cases, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Monday, August 2, that curfew hours in Metro Manila will be reimposed from 8 pm to 4 am during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Abalos also explained that authorized persons outside residence and residents who were scheduled for vaccination will be exempted from the curfew.
Liquor ban in effect.
The MMDA chairman added that local government units have the power to impose a liquor ban.
Meanwhile, Valenzuela, Mandaluyong, Parañaque, Pasay, Navotas, Pateros, Quezon City, and San Juan earlier announced that the sale of liquor in their respective areas will be prohibited.
A non-authorized person outside residence(APOR) fetching APOR is now allowed with requirements.
The police chief explained that the requirements for drivers who will fetch APORs would be issued by employers, and not by the authorities. The announcement was made exactly a day before the implementation of ECQ.
According to Eleazar, the requirements for non-APOR drivers are as follows:
- Certificate of employment for the APOR workers
- Copy of the employer’s business permit
- Certification from the employer, indicating the name, contact number of the driver and employer, and vehicle details
COVID-19 vaccinations to continue during ECQ period.
COVID-19 vaccinations in virus epicenter Metro Manila will remain unhampered during the lockdown period from August 6 to 20, Malacañang said on Friday, July 30.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed this to Rappler in a text message after he was asked if inoculations for senior citizens would continue once Metro Manila is placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
