Manila now in GCQ with some restrictions until June 30, 2021
Publish date: June 15, 2021

Hey, Poker playas!

Metro Manila and Bulacan have been placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) “with some restrictions” until the end of June, while the rest of the so-called “NCR Plus” will be under GCQ “with heightened restrictions.”

This is the first time that “NCR Plus” areas are placed under different quarantine classifications.

The new quarantine classifications were announced on Monday, June 14, during President Rodrigo Duterte’s weekly public address on the COVID-19 pandemic.

This quarantine mode, in place in “NCR Plus” since June 1, was different from the “ordinary” GCQ because it prohibited indoor gyms from operating. It also allowed certain establishments like personal care services, restaurants, and outdoor tourism venues to accommodate a smaller number of guests compared to those in “ordinary” GCQ. Before those two weeks of GCQ “with restrictions” was a two-week period of GCQ “with heightened restrictions” in “NCR Plus.”

Ahead of the shift, the national pandemic task force had allowed indoor gyms and museums to open in “NCR Plus” but required gyms to secure a Safety Seal certification to prove they followed health protocols.

The curfew in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be from midnight to 4 am starting Tuesday, June 15, the presiding officer of the Metro Manila Council said on Monday, June 14.

Metro Manila has been under a six-hour curfew, from 10 pm to 4 am, since May 1, when the region was under the much stricter modified enhanced community quarantine.

The mayors agreed to ease curfew hours, adjust it to midnight. The change will begin on June 15.

Poker rooms and tournaments.

The 3 big poker rooms and houses are now open. with the easing of the curfew hours.

However, tournaments may not come back anytime soon.

Although Pokerstars Live Manila now has 8 players per table with barriers between players and dealers.

We hope things go back to normal soon as well but be patient.
