tips from the pros – John Costiniano
Publish date: March 23, 2021

The world will always continue to move.

With international organizers setting their sights on other Asian countries to hold events.

PH just entered a new season of added quarantine measures, slowing down to what is already a frail poker community.

With the local market now so addicted to cockfighting. We decided to keep pushing tips from the pros.

Why? because poker is not gambling. And if you work hard enough and study enough you can be a winner.

You just have to keep working hard.

There are many poker sites out there. There are even great guarantees for small buy-ins.

That is why avoid dubious poker sites with no licenses. Or any poker site that advertises you to gamble to win.

Poker is a mind sport, and if you study and work hard enough. you will be a winner.

And the best one to prove this is ……

John Costiniano

Known as one of the best online grinders in the Philippines. John has been living grinding online for years.

He has made a living out of grinding on even some of the biggest online sites in the world. He has numerous online achievement that would rival some of the top live players in PH.

He is a great online poker player.  Hence we asked him for tips.

And today we are sharing the wisdom he has shared.

  1. Game selection, depending on your poker goals, knowing where and what to play will be crucial to your long term success as an online grinder

There are many poker varieties, there are many poker sites. and there are even different bonuses for poker players.it is about choosing the battles you fight so you can win the war.

2. Have a good balance of playing and studying.

John Costiniano is the second player we have comes across that promotes studying. it just shows how important it is.

Just because you won an event does not mean you can win forever. It is a constant battle that would change and evolve as time passes.

Don’t just keep playing. Take some time to study as well.

3. Surround yourself with like-minded people, have a crew to work with, the game is too easy for us to get blindsided no matter what level u are.

Having the right group is very important. It is your support group. it is your motivator. It also helps broaden your horizons.

Have friends that will help you evolve.

4. Working on your mental game is just as important as working on your strats.

Mental health is important as you are playing a mental game. keep it healthy.

5. How you do one thing, is how you do everything. Be structured and disciplined in every way of life, you’ll be surprised how stars will align as you go.

All of the champions we have interviewed so far stressed that discipline is the key.

Discipline is considered one of the important things to maintain playing poker.

But John explained it deeper.

It is how you do things no matter how small it may be, that can make a bigger impact later on.

Its creating good habits that will help you become a winner.

6. Keep an open mind. Even from talking to the weakest player u know for sure you’ll learn a little something

Even a fool can say something wise. always keep an open mind when talking to people. Do not let your ego take you over. always be prepared to listen.
