Daniel Negreanu wins session 31
Publish date: January 25, 2021

Like a boxing match, the grudge match is putting in a good fight.

First, it was Polk that was ahead, then Negreanu tried to get a comeback. but was met with devastating blows with quick punches from Polk.

Suddenly “Kidpoker” took a big swing and connects. Hitting the biggest win the grudge match.

Recap on session 29

The Grudge Match of the Century was getting hot as Negreanu suffered a big loss on the session. which made him say in the post-match interview:

“I’m not suggesting that the fucking software’s rigged, but man, it feels like it. It just doesn’t feel real, and I’ve been playing poker for- what am I, fucking 46? – I’ve been playing poker for 27, 28 years. This doesn’t feel possible. I know it is possible, and I know fucking variance is a thing. But it doesn’t feel possible. It just doesn’t feel fucking possible.”

Negreanu’s vocabulary received a better run-out than his big hands, with another of his legendary swear-fests:

“I just kept getting those big cocksucking, fucking, motherfucking ace-king of spades…cock-fucking dickshit end up with dick-fucking-all…”

That’s the more publishable of his post-match comments.

Lady luck and variance turns around

The variance factor was on Daniel Negreanu this time.  whenever Polk had a good hand, KidPoker seemed to have an even better one, as in this $116k pot…

♣ ♠ ♦ ♥

Negreanu: J♥ J♣
Polk: 8♥ 8♠

Flop: 10♦ 3♠ 2♦
Turn: 6♥
River: 3♣

Three-and-a-half hours into the session and Daniel was sitting with close to $500k at the tables, and although Polk managed to recoup some of his losses before they called it a day at just over 1000 hands, it was the biggest win for either man during the Grudge Match

End of day result

hands played – 1046 hands

Win – Daniel Negreanu – $390,032.13

Total session – Polk ahead +$612,563.46 over 18924 hands
