The pandemic and the future

The poker world was shut down in some places in Asia due to the coronavirus. But now that we have a vaccine. It may take a while but soon we would be able to travel from here to other parts of the globe to play poker,

And one of Taiwan’s leading players could be the first to try and play it all.

Pete Chen and his record

Pete Chen has been playing since2011, Finishing 12th in the Macau Poker Cup – No-limit hold-em Deep stack event at the Lisboa Hotel and Casino.

He has since earned more than 3 million USD from playing poker.

He won Pokerstars as Asia player of the year in 2014. and also WPT Asia player of the year in 2018.

He has probably played and won in every event in Asia.

Even China!

WPT Beijing back in 2017.

The player has pretty much done it all and he is still trying to reach more stars.

2020

Even the pandemic couldn’t stop him. Thankfully that Taiwan was quick to act on the coronavirus. live events were held on its soil.

He still bagged quite a few events in 2020.

Amazingly he has performed well on the WSOP online series where he cashed a lot of events.

His poker streaming and poker page has gained enough traction and has more than 1,500 followers.

He is also a poker pro of Natural 8.

The man seems unstopable.

2021

Taiwan has a very good government. They might be able to secure the vaccine for its people soon.

Once it is secured, Pete can go traveling again around the globe.

Why would it affect the industry?

Events in Asia need Taiwanese players, they come in groups. Sometimes in big groups.

With that in mind, once Pete Chen starts traveling. He could in fact inspire other players to start traveling again. Would he travel again?

We ask Pete Chen on his plans for 2021.

Would you travel again once there a vaccine?

It really depends, In Taiwan, even when you have been vaccinated. You still have to go for a mandatory self quarantine. I would love to go out again, but the quarantine period will take away a lot of my time if i go out.

If there is no quarantine period?

I would love to travel any place to play tournaments if the place is safe and have reasonable numbers of players. Before that just stay in Taiwan 😂

Any message to poker players out there eager to travel?

To my fellow poker players. stay safe for now and be patient. follow the government guidelines. Wear mask and stay safe. We would be able to play freely soon. but for now if you want to play at Natural 8. message me!

Hope to see you soon poker playas!
