Publish date: December 26, 2020

As 2020 comes to a close, The last 12 months for everyone was not an easy year. Hope is around the corner, but it could take a while before things go back to normal.

Here is a quick look.

The Coronavirus.

The coronavirus is that one world that can sum up what is 2020.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). What is so small that it is so naked to the human eye has become the sensation that forced the world to changed. It forced the world to lock down its doors and not allowed foreigners.

The first case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. It has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing pandemic. By March, There were people that were tested being positive for the disease outside China. Countries started to lock their doors, businesses were ordered to shut down to curb the growth of the disease. Social gatherings were not allowed. The world was turned upside down. Days become weeks. weeks became months. Even now the virus is still spreading.

Is it under control? The answer is no. There are countries that are still having problems to control the spread of the disease.

Poker and the coronavirus

Poker is a social game, While the coronavirus loves people socializing. We have to accept the fact that this is true.

Casinos and other gaming establishments were severely affected due to the coronavirus. The government from different parts of the world shut down casinos to curb the spread of the disease.

Organizers began announcing the cancellation of several tournaments. But it was still hoping for the best.

Countries like South Korea and Taiwan enjoyed the fruits of the effective control measures of the government. They were able to hold tournaments, including international events but heavily relying on the local scene.

While the United States preferred opening its doors and has one of the highest cases in the world. Poker continued to flourish the same with the virus. The election probably played a role to allow the easing of restrictions. but that did not help as a new president won the election. Will new changes happen? will poker be able to operate freely?

The light at the end of the road

A new strain of coronavirus first detected in the UK has prompted dozens of travel bans and widespread concern about what this means for the world.

But there is a vaccine available.

The distribution may take time. but A vaccine is available.

We just have to hang tight and continue to be vigilant. Soon we can start removing the things we have lost and start new.

2020 may be the year Coronavirus took over the world. but it is also the year that people stood up and became better.

We just have to hang tough! stay vigilant and follow social distancing and wear a mask.

We can someday come on top. just stay strong.
