“Now-a-days, there are a lot of players who register at the last minute. believing that they get more chances, from my experience it’s not complete either. I think registering early has more advantages. When you register late, chances are you have tons of players who have built their stack. but this is poker. Registering the last minutes are bingo players. people have caught up to them and will only call with premium hands. which puts the early registrant at an advantage.”

2. Tight Is Right In the Early Stages

Jason Ambata sent us his opinion.

“Early stages are the best way to play, you get to study the players early and you can sometimes call them to force them to show their hand which can reveal their ranges. tight is not about not playing hands and playing only premium hands. Tight means you can experiment a little bit on a conservative approach. Online blinds are lower than live games.  you can make conservatives play earl on and see what works.”

3. don’t worry about professional grinders

The reason the management set the guarantee small.  A lot of big guarantees will attract big groups. The management wanted the tournament to be for the small people. Hence it is a Christmas bonus. You really can’t stop the grinders from joining. But real and legit players who are starting out. This is a good tournament for them. The big guys will go for big guarantees. The only people that would join are the new players which is what the tournament is for.

Freeroll tournament and small buy-in tournaments will be played by new players. if the player played that many hours to win. I am sure they would want to reach the final table without taking too much risk. take advantage of it.

4. Don’t pick a battle with the chip leader.

You do not win a tournament by defeating the chip leader. until the final two. avoid the chip leader. you will have plenty of chances with other weak players with a smaller stack. Take risk but calculate risk.
