Hey, Poker playas!

How is everyone? It looks like Manila has begun to re-open its doors! A poker room has finally opened its doors, and it the first sign of life for the poker industry. Two of the top Filipino pros are about to battle on a heads up challenge and a Christmas special for those who are still stuck at home but are itching to play poker!

Let us talk about it now.

Pokerstars Live Manila re-opens at Okada Manila

Live poker has finally come back to Manila. The first poker room to open its doors is the poker room at Okada Manila!

Due to the pandemic, all gaming establishment was ordered close by the president of the Philippines on March 15, 2020.

For months no legal poker room was able to operate. Players were restless as players were itching to play.

Meanwhile, Pokerstars was silent on the matter and only occasionally announcing the cancellation of the poker tournaments.

Until Monday, December 7, 2020. Suddenly, the group Viber account of Pokerstars came buzzing to life as Gil Alim announced the re-opening of the room.

True to the announcement. Pokerstars did start operating on December 8, 2020, at lunchtime and they have slowly been operating on 6 players per table.

The Duel

A Special tournament was announced against two of the Philippines ‘ top pros.

Jason Ambata, The resident pro of 1234 Network – poker group, will go against Gerardo Lubas.

Both players have impressive records and are in the top 10 of GPI Philippines.

More details will be announced soon in the following days on the format of the Match.

A special Christmas tournament will also be announced soon.

GPI Philippines 2020 new number 1 for 2020

GPI has a huge shakedown as a new player pop out and became the number 1 for the GPI Philippines 2020.

Reggie Bautista who is Filipino-born but plays actively in the United States is now number 1.
