How are you? We hope everything is fine, and yes, we miss live events too.
It has been a while since there have been any live tournaments in Manila. The future is still uncertain when live poker will be back. But here a quick update on all things that have been happening.
United States
The US was the first to resist and lift lockdown measures to control covid. Currently, live events are still very active.
However, with a new president elected. Will we see a massive shift or changes in policies?

Europe
King’s Casino is back, The biggest poker in Europe will once again open its doors.
Force to shut down due to covid once again. The government is now easing the lockdown measures and has allowed King’s Casino to open its doors once again.

Asia
There were countries that were spared the onslaught of covid. Hence, Live events were held recently and future events have been announced. Even international events are coming back to Asia.
J88 of South Korea and CPP of Taiwan have held events with great success. China is rumored to be holding good events.
It is great to see live events coming back to issue and, hopefully, more events come back.

Philippines
The Philippines is a topic that we chose to separate. It is one of the countries that was first in holding legal poker events in Asia and at one time was the leading builder of poker legends.
But now things have changed.
Long lockdown measure, Top 20 in covid numbers, and typhoon onslaught, There is still no news on when live poker will be back in Manila.
There are rumors but no official words.
We hope things get better for the Philippines as it is one of the countries that helped push poker to be more accepted in Asia.
Online poker
However, like other countries, A lot of the players have shifted online or underground poker rooms. GG Poker is one of those sites that has enjoyed a massive boom in a lot of countries, especially due to the deal with WSOP.
GG poker grew by more than 200% but is not available for Filipino poker players.
Most players are either using PP Poker or U poker. One of the few sites available for the Philippines is 1234 poker which did suffer some setbacks.
However, they are now moving forward as two big groups have decided to join 1234 network.
Regular tournaments will be available soon and other fantastic promos. New pros have been added to the team.
