Protecting yourself and others against COVID-19
Publish date: June 23, 2020

The world is slowly opening but our fight against the virus is not over. We are here to bring you a quick reminder of the safety measure against the virus.

The Corona Virus

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease that is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

In the latest report by the World Health Organization(WHO). Most people that get infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

That is why it was important to stay at home thereby isolating the infection. However with some countries needing to open or need to go out for work. we are now releasing guidelines from the World Health organization to protect yourself against COVID-19.

Social Distancing

One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of the disease in social distancing.

COVID-19 spreads primarily when people are in close contact and one person inhales small droplets produced by an infected person (symptomatic or not) coughing, sneezing, talking, or singing.

By maintaining distance, the small droplets are avoided when the infected person opens his or her mouth.

It is unknown what amount of virus is required to cause infection, but Sputum and saliva carry large amounts of virus.

Hand washing

The coronavirus can stay on the surfaces of the things that an infected person touches or talking to someone who is infected. That is why washing your hands is important.

Surfaces are easily decontaminated with household disinfectants that kill the virus outside the human body or on the hands.

For hands, washing more than 20 seconds is recommended and makes sure that you wash your hand in between the fingers and beneath the nails.

So why does soap work so well on the Sars-CoV-2, the coronavirus and indeed most viruses? The short story: because the virus is a self-assembled nanoparticle in which the weakest link is the lipid (fatty) bilayer. Soap dissolves the fat membrane and the virus falls apart like a house of cards and dies – or rather, we should say it becomes inactive as viruses aren’t really alive.

Face Mask

Face mask and face shield is basically a wall.  The wall that specifically stops the virus from entering your nose and mouth. A face shield is the same thing.

They are the defense that stop the virus from entering. however, if people do not wear the mask right or touch the surface of the mask and did not wash their hands. then the virus can be transmitted.

Make sure that when you touch the mask avoid the direct surface and wash your hands.

Practicing safety guidelines decreases the chance of getting infected. This is our fight against the COVID-19 Virus.

Hope to see you soon Poker playas!
