Hey, Poker Playas!

It is the start of the cancer season and so many updates happened last week. Since today is Monday, we would be making a shortlist of what is happening around the globe that you might have miss and some new updates that just happen.

The United States of America

Casinos and poker rooms are reopening with different standards especially with how to operate the poker room. Here a brief list of what is happening.

Bellagio Hotel and Casino 

Bellagio poker room is now open. currently, these are the safety guidelines.

– Plexiglasses are installed in between and in front of the player.
– Wearing of face mask is not Mandatory but is encouraged.
– 23 tables and 2 high limit rooms (Bobby room).
– Spectators are not allowed.
– Max 6 players.

 

Venetian Poker Room

Venetian has also opened its poker room, Currently here are the safety guidelines.

– no Plexiglass installed
– Face Mask is Mandatory
– 5 – handed Max
– First to held a multi-table tournament
– The tournament was shoot-out format
– The first stage with 16 tables – 5 handed
– The Second stage  4 tables – 4 handed
– Final table 4
– Max 80 seats – sold out before the tournament started
– Tournaments happen every Friday and Saturday.

Commerce Casino

Commerce Casino is the largest card room in the world, with more than 240 tables on-site and spreads more Texas Hold’em games than any other casino in the world.

– Side plexiglass is installed.
– 8 handed max
– Facemask in mandatory
– Dealers have face shield.

Europe

King’s Resort

One of Europe’s biggest card rooms and one of the biggest poker arenas of the continent and host of the World Series of Poker Europe throughout the last few years.

– currently, all personnel will wear facemask and face shield.
– No player per table limit
– Wearing of facemask for players not mandatory
– Chips and cards are sanitized “rigorously”
– Tournaments are now in a regular pace.

Asia

South Korea

South Koreas is a role model in controlling the virus. so far they have been quite successful in minimizing the pandemic and did not go into lockdown.

Due to that. J88PT was able to conduct a tournament which was held in different clubs to make sure no overcrowding. facemask and other safety measures were implemented.

Currently it is still ongoing and we will update once we get the details. 

Philippines

Some casinos outside Manila have been allowed to open. In an interview with Andrea Domingo, Head of PAGCOR. She said that casinos can start holding dry-runs which is a positive sign for the re-opening of the Casino.

Some Poker houses have begun to conduct the rapid tests for the coronavirus. 

EIC preparing for application PAGCOR casino license.

Hong Kong-listed gaming investor International Entertainment Corp (IEC) is preparing for its application for  PAGCOR to develop a casino and integrated resort at its Manila hotel premises, New Coast Hotel Manila.

 It also owns the rights to operate live poker events across most of Asia under the PokerStars brand.

Hyatt Hotel was the host hotel for Pokerstars Inaugural APPT back in 2007.
